2025 Willamette Valley Wine Auction Sets Auction Record

Alexana Estate Mosaic – In Blue Pinot Noir Sells for $30,000

DUNDEE HILLS, OR (May 19, 2025) – The 2025 Willamette Valley Wine Auction, held May 14–15, 2025, unveiled a reimagined two-day format showcasing 71 exclusive lots from the highly acclaimed 2023 vintage, setting a record for highest average bottle price in the auction’s nine year history with Alexana Estate’s 60-bottle lot selling for $500 per bottle.

More than 80 trade bidders from 35 states and three countries participated in the auction, which focused on collaborative winery events that are the cultural cornerstone of the Willamette Valley wine community.

The 2025 Auction raised $614,115 to support the Willamette Valley wine community, elevating the average lot price to $10,774; this set a record high average bottle price of $180, the highest ever for the live auction (compared to the previous record high of $160 per bottle in 2019).

2025 Auction Highlights – Top Lots

  • Lot #32 – 60 bottles – 2023 Alexana Mosaic – In Blue Pinot Noir – $30,000
  • Lot #24 – 60 bottles – 2023 Antica Terra Alder Creek Pinot Noir – $25,000
  • Lot #18 – 60 bottles – 2023 Bethel Heights Kaleidoscope Chardonnay – $18,000

This year’s top lot, five cases of ‘Mosaic – In Blue’ from Alexana Estate, raised $30,000. Only 60-bottles of this Pinot Noir were produced from Dr. Madaiah Revana’s famed ‘Block 8’ at Alexana Estate on the western slope of the Dundee Hills.

Dr. Revana was in attendance and spoke ahead of the final auction lot, which, in addition to 60 bottles of Pinot Noir, included the opportunity to join Dr. Revana and the winemakers from Alexana Estate and Revana Estate at the blending table in 2026.

“It’s an honor to receive the highest-selling lot amongst such a vibrant and remarkable community of wineries, especially in a legendary vintage like 2023,” said Dr. Revana. “This is particularly special for our team, as we are celebrating our Alexana’s 20th anniversary, and the first full vintage from winemaker, Tresider Burns, following our conversion to organic farming led by our Director of Viticulture, Drew Herman. We’re honored to be a part of the Willamette Valley community and to have the chance to showcase this beautiful corner of wine country in partnership with our talented neighbors.”

Alexana Estate hosted their annual pre-auction winemaker dinner to garner excitement for the event in partnership with neighboring producers including Cho Wines, Nicholas Jay, Lingua Franca, and Abbott Claim. The event showcased rare wines and brought together farmers, winemakers, media, and collectors.

“We’ve always known that the Willamette Valley is strongest when we collaborate with our friends and neighbors in the Valley,” said Alexana General Manager Jeff Lewis, who also serves on the Willamette Valley Wineries Association board. “This is why wine collectors love visiting Willamette–you can sit at a table with pioneers, legends, and winemaking stars, all celebrating each other’s successes. At Alexana, we see our role as not only bringing people together within the Willamette Valley but also bringing more people in from outside. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we invite everyone into the same room.”
