Napa Valley’s Cuvaison Winery Unveils ‘The VineYard’: A New Family-Friendly Outdoor Tasting Area for Laidback, Self-Paced Tastings

May 21, 2025 (Napa Valley – Los Carneros, CA) Cuvaison is excited to announce the unveiling of a casual outdoor area called The VineYard where the winery will offer its new The VineYard Tasting. In contrast to more elaborate experiences, The VineYard Tasting is a unique tasting designed to provide guests with the opportunity to explore Cuvaison’s wines at their own pace in a relaxed, self-guided setting beside Cuvaison’s beautiful Tai Estate Vineyard.

The opening of The VineYard marks the completion of a multi-phase project that included an expanded Tasting Salon featuring a 2,500-square-foot Vineyard Patio overlooking Cuvaison’s scenic pond, and the unveiling of two stunning open-air boathouse pavilions, where Cuvaison offers its elevated Boathouse Tasting Experience. Located next to the Tasting Salon in a secluded area enclosed by small trees and fortnight lilies, the al fresco setting of The VineYard features modern patio furniture and views that look out towards the winery’s historic vineyard. Designed to create a down-to-earth welcoming space that is ideal for both families with children and those looking of a more laidback tasting experience, The Vineyard also welcomes well-behaved dogs on leash.

“While we pride ourselves on offering some of Napa Valley’s most memorable elevated tastings, we also recognize that some people prefer a less-formal, less-structured experience that’s more reminiscent of the casual old days of Napa Valley wine country,” said Cuvaison President and CEO Daniel Zepponi. “By embracing the diversity of our estate and all its magical spots, we have created an array of experiences, with something for everyone. For those who just want to gather with friends and family to enjoy world-class wines in a beautiful setting with stunning views, but don’t feel the need to be led through their tasting, The VineYard Tasting is perfect. The VineYard is also a space where guests of all ages can feel comfortable and at ease.”

The VineYard Tasting is offered at the Cuvaison Estate at 1221 Duhig Rd in Los Carneros, which is situated one hour from San Francisco and 10 minutes from downtown Napa. The tasting is available by reservation Friday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at a cost of $40 per adult. After being greeted by a host at the Tasting Salon, guests will be guided to their own private table in The VineYard and presented with a flight of three wines in carafes. Guests then enjoy a leisurely, self-guided tasting and may extend their experience with the purchase of additional wine by the glass or bottle options to further explore Cuvaison’s acclaimed wines. To enhance The Vineyard Tasting, Cuvaison also offers locally sourced cheese plates ($35) or caviar service for two ($85).

“The VineYard Tasting recognizes the fact that sometimes simple and unfussy can be wonderful,” says Cuvaison Tasting Room Manager Rafa Nicoletto “It’s an experience that’s about the people you’re with, the wines you’re sharing and the beauty of the setting.”
