Star Wine List, often called the Michelin guide for the wine world, will return to New York for its third annual wine list awards on 5 May. The finalists have now been revealed.
April 10, 2025 — 46 wine bars and restaurants in the New York metropolitan area have been tapped as finalists. They include the world-famous and Michelin-starred Eleven Madison Park and Daniel restaurants, alongside newer additions to New York’s dining scene such as Coqodaq and La Compagnie Wine Bar Flatiron.
The Star Wine List of the Year awards celebrate the greatest wine lists in the world – and the teams behind them. At Star Wine List of the Year New York, Gold Stars will be awarded in nine categories. These awards are held around the world, in Tokyo, Paris, London and Barcelona, among other territories, with the winners in the international categories qualifying for the Star Wine List of the Year International Final, which will be held in Vienna, in June.
The jury for Star Wine List of the Year New York 2025 comprises four top wine experts from around the world: Salvatore Castano, (Best Sommelier of Europe and Africa 2021), Stephen Wong (Master of Wine) and Paz Levinson (Best Sommelier of the Americas 2015), and Star Wine List’s New York Ambassador, the Manhattan-based wine writer Wanda Mann, who offers a local perspective.
“We can’t wait to go back and celebrate with the teams in May,” says Krister Bengtsson, Star Wine List’s Founder and Publisher. “New York is such a unique destination and inspiration in the wine world – it is always moving and these places are watched by sommeliers, wine professionals and restaurateurs around the world.”
