March 4, 2025 (Mendocino County, CA) — Bonterra Organic Estates today announced Beatrix Scolari’s appointment to the role of Sustainability Manager. In this role, Scolari will spearhead the development and implementation of the winery’s sustainability strategy and goals. She will drive innovative initiatives to achieve Bonterra’s sustainability and regenerative objectives, and will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to amplify the company’s social, economic, and environmental impact.
Scolari joins Bonterra Organic Estates from Quantis, a global environmental sustainability consultancy, where she served as Senior Strategist in the food and beverage sector. During her time at Quantis, Scolari was instrumental in building environmental, social, and governance programs for global clients. Her vast experience includes creating a product ecodesign strategy for a multinational confectionary giant and developing a program for a leading US agricultural cooperative to finance on-farm sustainability projects in its supply chain.
Prior to Quantis, Scolari held key roles at Straus Family Creamery, where she led efforts to make the company the first TRUE Zero Waste Certified dairy manufacturing facility and contributed to the creation of a model for climate-smart organic dairy farming.
“We are thrilled to welcome Beatrix to the Bonterra team and are excited to continue our sustainability journey under her leadership. Beatrix brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will help drive our impact initiatives forward and reinforce our position as an industry leader in regenerative organic agriculture and environmental stewardship,” said Joseph Brinkley, Senior Director of Regenerative Organic Development at Bonterra Organic Estates.
In her new role, Scolari will be instrumental in further elevating Bonterra’s leadership in regenerative and organic farming practices in Mendocino County, recently named Wine Enthusiast‘s American Wine Region of the Year. Her expertise will help ensure Bonterra Organic Estates remains at the forefront of sustainable innovation while showcasing the rich potential of organic and regenerative agriculture in a celebrated wine region.
“I’m grateful to join Bonterra and build on the company’s incredible legacy of leadership in sustainability. Being from wine country myself, I’m deeply passionate about this industry and look forward to developing initiatives to ensure the resilience of our producers and community,” said Scolari.
Scolari holds a BS in Environmental Economics & Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and has worked with a range of organizations dedicated to sustainability and environmental advocacy, including Amy’s Kitchen and the Environmental & Energy Study Institute.
