The public wine release will be celebrated with Bob’s Ranch Block Party hosted at WALT’s Napa Tasting Room on Saturday, May 3, 2025, inviting Wine Club Members and Pinot enthusiasts to explore the vineyard and winemaking story behind this hallmark wine.
Now in its ninth vintage, Bob’s Ranch Pinot Noir showcases singular expression of a world class, cool-climate vineyard in the heart of the Sonoma Coast appellation. WALT sources premium fruit from appellations spanning the Pacific Coast, from California’s Santa Rita Hills to as far North as Oregon’s Willamette Valley, emphasizing WALT’s commitment to site-driven viticulture and the distinct expression of each vineyard.

The Bob’s Ranch Estate Vineyard, located in the Sonoma Coast AVA, benefits from the Pacific Ocean’s cooling influence via the Petaluma Wind Gap. The cool ocean influence keeps the temperatures mild, and the steady breezes help produce small grape clusters with intense flavors. The vineyard’s mix of hills, valleys, and different soil types, along with a variety of Pinot Noir clones, gives the winemaking team the tools to create a wine that truly reflects the character of the vineyard.
Each Bob’s Ranch Estate Vineyard block contributes unique characteristics to the final blend, highlighting the diversity of Sonoma Coast’s premier vineyard sites and WALT’s meticulous viticultural practices.
Bob’s Ranch Block Party is a unique opportunity for guests to experience the vineyard’s story through guided insights into the blocks and clones that form Bob’s Ranch Pinot Noir. Guests will enjoy Mediterranean cuisine from Harvest Moon Catering, live entertainment by DJ Carlos, and an exclusive tasting of wines from WALT’s portfolio.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Vintner Kathryn Walt Hall, WALT Senior Winemaker Alison Frichtl, and WALT General Manager Jeff Zappelli, each of whom will share insights into the unique characteristics of different vineyard blocks. Kathryn will emphasize the personal and agricultural legacy of her father, Bob Walt, for whom the vineyard and flagship wine are named.
