Grand Prairie, Texas, Aug. 5, 2024—Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Davis to the RNDC Board of Directors and the transition of Jay Davis to the role of RNDC Advisor to the Board. Richard Davis assumed his new role on August 1, 2024.
In Richard Davis’s current role as head of government affairs, he has active involvement in state and federal legislative matters, working closely with Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA). Bringing over 22 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry with expertise in sales, marketing, and finance, his strategic insights provide an invaluable resource in guiding RNDC’s future growth and corporate governance. Richard began his career with RNDC in 2002 and has held several key positions within the company. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and an MBA from the University of Georgia. As a third-generation member of RNDC, he is dedicated to upholding the traditions his father and grandfather instilled, focusing on the well-being of RNDC’s suppliers, customers, and associates.
Jay Davis has had a remarkable 50-year career at RNDC, significantly contributing to the company’s growth and success. He started in an administrative role and eventually became President and CEO of National Distributing Company. Jay has been instrumental in expanding the distributorship founded by his father in 1942 and is deeply involved in Atlanta’s business community and beverage industry.
Jay serves on the boards of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America where he was the former Director of both WSWA and WSWG. He is also a passionate supporter of education, serving as an Emeritus trustee of the Terry College Dean’s Advisory Council, a board member and Emeritus trustee of the University of Georgia Foundation, and a lifetime trustee of the Davis Academy.
