Introducing the New Business of Drinks Podcast: Scott Rosenbaum and Caroline Lamb Join as On-Air Talent

New York, New York (June 20, 2024) — The Business of Drinks podcast today announces two new on-air talents and an expanded format. Over the past year, the Business of Drinks has been at the forefront of drinks innovation, sharing the most compelling growth strategies, operational insights, and sales advice from groundbreaking leaders and companies across the adult beverage space. The podcast has also presented original research into generational drinking behaviors, commissioning its own study on Millennial and Gen Z preferences and purchase drivers.

Now Business of Drinks goes from strength-to-strength with the appointment of Scott Rosenbaum as podcast co-host and Caroline Lamb as producer and on-air contributor.

Scott is a veteran strategist and analyst with deep experience building drinks portfolios. Currently, he is the North America search manager at Distill Ventures, the world’s first drinks industry accelerator. He was formerly vice president at T. Edward Wines & Spirits, a New York-based importer and distributor. While there, Scott created T. Edward’s craft spirits portfolio, which represented over two dozen distilleries, including Arette Tequila, High Wire Distilling Co., La Gritona Tequila, and others. Scott holds an MA in Food Studies from NYU. He was an adjunct professor at NYU and Hudson County Community College, and an instructor in wine and spirits at New York’s International Wine Center for more than a decade. Scott holds a WSET Diploma in Wine & Spirits and is a WSET-Certified Educator. He is based in Washington D.C.

Caroline is a sales representative at Great Lakes Wine & Spirits, based in Detroit, Michigan. She has worked in myriad beverage roles, from bartender to wine cellar assistant.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Scott and Caroline to the team,” said Erica Duecy, Business of Drinks founder and co-host. “Together, they bring an exciting new dimension to the podcast, with their cross-functional and cross-generational perspectives. The Business of Drinks is becoming even more of a ‘must-listen’ for leaders and stakeholders from throughout the drinks industry.”

The new Business of Drinks team has experience working in all drinks categories and across the three tiers. And the team represents generational diversity — with Gen X, Millennial, and Gen Z members.

In the debut episode of the revamped format, Erica and Scott discuss mid-year drinks trends. They take a data-backed approach to discuss how fears around the “end of alcohol” are overblown. Then, they dive into the emerging trends of non-carbonated alcohol waters and its counterpart — the OG and new wave of hard tea and hard lemonades. Finally, they move on to discuss the emergence of spicy drinks across categories — including new spicy wine brands.

Caroline leads up the Last Call segment toward the end of the episode, hopping into a lively debate with the team about gender-based marketing, yay or nay? Plus, which brands are doing it well — and which are falling flat.
