Santa Rosa, California, January 16, 2024 – Marama Labs is excited to add Peter Salamone, PhD to its growing team. Dr Salamone’s background in breakthrough product introduction and applied research in the wine industry over the past 20 years supports the CloudSpecTM platform seamlessly.
As Head of Sales for North America Peter is based in California and will lead all marketing, sales, support and collaborative applied research for CloudSpecTM applications. Peter has broad experience in wine production settings with E&J Gallo Winery and Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines, in addition he has held industry supplier leadership positions as well as industry service experience as an American Vineyard Foundation reviewer on both the Enology and Germplasm & Breeding Committees. Coupled with his diverse wine industry exposure Peter’s depth of experience in molecular biosciences including microbiology, enzymology and genetics provides Marama Labs clients with an outstanding technical resource as its business continues to expand in the North American market.
The founders of Marama Labs are physicists and alumni of the world-renowned Raman Laboratory in Wellington. The idea for CloudSpecTM was borne out of fundamental spectroscopy research in the field of surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). Coupled with the Marama Labs acquisition of the WineCloud phenolic analysis platform from the World-renowned Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI) and the development of the Insights cloud-based application by Marama Labs computer engineers and programmers, CloudSpecTM is a unique and innovative step forward in wine color and phenolic analysis.
