Eden Rift Joins Roederer, Ponsot, Quintarellli and other Global Benchmarks on Top Twelve List
January 18th – Cienega Valley, CA – Eden Rift, located in the Cienega Valley along California’s Central Coast, and under vine since 1849, has been named one of the top twelve wines of the world by celebrated Australian auction house and luxury retailer, Langtons.
Since 1988, Langtons has been recognized for their extraordinary selection of fine wines and exemplary customer service. While Langtons began as a specialty auction house, and remains one today, it now also offers a robust luxury wine retail business, and a roster of client services including the complimentary full-service wine concierge, providing clients with access to rare, nearly impossible-to-find benchmarks, coveted and obscure wines, pre-release wines and curated tasting experiences.
Langtons’ top twelve wine list includes the 2014 Louis Roederer Cristal Brut Champagne, the 2021 Mount Mary Quintet Cabernet Blend, Yarra Valley, the 2015 Quintarelli Rosso Ca’ del Merlo, Veneto IGT, the 2020 Laurent Ponsot Cuvee du Pandorea, Meursault, the 2020 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay, and the 2019 Eden Rift Reserve Pinot Noir, Cienega Valley, among others. Eden Rift was the sole producer from the United States on the esteemed list.
Eden Rift, founded by Christian Pillsbury in 2016, offers an emblematic line up of mostly Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, sourced at their estate in the Cienega Valley appellation of San Benito County, including their Reserve and Terraces estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay bottlings, as well as the single-origin Landsdale and Palmtag-designated estate Pinot Noirs. Finding their provenance in limestone-borne soils, the wines of Eden Rift are recognized for their natural balance, bracing acidity and purity of fruit expression. Since 2016, Eden Rift has received numerous accolades and was recognized in Wine & Spirits magazine’s coveted global Top 100 Wineries of the Year list in 2022 and 2023.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by Langtons of Australia, and in such esteemed company. This recognition underscores that we’re on the right path, prioritizing the health of our vines and our estate site. It all begins and ends with the singular terroir of Eden Rift,” says Pillsbury.
