In 1975, Tony Rumfola’s entrepreneurial spirit led to the founding of TCR Industries. Tony recognized and seized the opportunity to sell distressed customer inventory brought on by the infamous “oil embargo,” which occurred in the early 1970s. During that time, many chemical raw materials customers maintained high inventories due to the volatility of chemical supply needed to produce their finished products. When the “oil embargo” ended, these customers needed to improve their operating cash flow and reduce their excess raw material levels. Tony opportunistically worked with these customers to match them with other customers that needed material. The process was helpful to all parties concerned, and it jumpstarted the startup of TCR Industries.
From the start, Tony envisioned a distribution company that would prosper over the very long term. Through his leadership, TCR Industries proudly maintains a customer-centric culture focused on the core four strategic pillars: Integrity, Quality, Service, and Selection. The company provides the highest level of trust, integrity, and transparency to our customers and principals. TCR Industries has achieved consistent sales growth since its inception.
