OAKVILLE, NAPA VALLEY, Calif. (December 7, 2023) — Shannon Muracchioli brings over 20 years of experience and expertise in wine marketing, hospitality and wine sales. Her history within the industry includes tenure at several esteemed Napa Valley wineries, in addition to wineries in Paso Robles, Sonoma, Walla Walla, WA and Willamette, OR.
“I fell in love with the wine world from the very start of my career and have since spent over two decades helping define sales, marketing, and operational strategies within the industry. Embracing my alma mater’s “learn-by-doing” mentality, I’ve had the true pleasure of working for a diverse number of brands across California, Washington and Oregon, all with a common need for dynamic start-up growth or strategic transformation requiring focus, creativity, and vision. Joining a family-operated winery with an iconic, respected reputation for quality farming and winemaking, is a dream. I’m incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity,” said Muracchioli.
A graduate from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, CA, Muracchioli earned her Bachelor’s in Agricultural Science, with concentrations in Viticulture and Communications. Prior to joining the team at Groth, she was most recently VP of Consumer Sales & Marketing at Sequoia Grove Winery. Before that, she held roles in marketing and DTC at several California wineries including Clos du Val, Donum Estate, Folio Fine Wines, Ram’s Gate Winery and Opolo Vineyards. Shannon also tackled the newly defined role of VP of Sales and Marketing at Bledsoe Wine Estates in Walla Walla, WA, whose portfolio included Doubleback, Bledsoe Family Winery and Bledsoe|McDaniels.
Muracchioli has been involved in supporting the greater wine industry through involvement with Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association, Walla Walla Valley Wine Marketing Committee, and WISE Academy’s Cabinet Program. Currently, she is also a selected participate in Napa Valley Vintners Leadership Program and is looking forward to championing Oakville Winegrowers and Napa Valley Grapegrowers within her new role.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Shannon to the team. Her experience with wineries from Groth’s size to the boutique, throughout the American West, is unique and brings a deep and varied skill set I need to share the story of our family winery,” said Suzanne Groth.
Dennis and Judy Groth made a life-changing investment in 1981 when they bought a vineyard on Oakville Cross Road, in the heart of Napa Valley, with hopes it would produce world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. It didn’t take long for their intuition to be proven right. Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate gave the Groth 1985 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon the distinction of being the first 100-point wine in the United States.
Today, with Dennis and Judy’s daughter, Suzanne Groth, as President & CEO, Groth sustainably farms two estates totaling 165 acres with the dual goals of producing the highest-quality, most elegant wines we can while caring for our estate for future generations. The winery produces critically acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
