(September 1, 2022; Carneros, CA) – Anaba Wines, a premium producer of Rhône and Burgundy varietal wines from Sonoma County, has reimagined its popular Turbine line of wines with the debut of several new bottlings, new packaging, wine style, tasting room experiences, lower prices and subscription wine club. Updated to reinforce Anaba’s deepest values, Turbine’s new direction prioritizes sustainability and consumer approachability, creating a delicious portfolio of wines inspired by the winds that sweep the region.

We wanted to harness that power in both the name and the quality of these wines.”
Priced between $32 and $40, and made in a vibrant style, Anaba aims to grow the Turbine line with future vintages making it the largest tier within its portfolio, and eventually available through national distribution. Launching
Anaba’s 2021 Turbine Chardonnay features a breezy hand-painted watercolor label and a vibrant new style.
in September 2022, the initial release includes a 2021 Chardonnay fermented and aged in stainless steel. Future releases include Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine, Grenache Pét-nat, Piquepoul, Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Rosé, Pinot Noir, Carbonic Grenache and a proprietary white and red Rhône variety blend. Turbine wines are available for direct purchase via the winery, as well as part of a new Turbine wine subscription, offering regular shipment of the wines with discounted pricing and greater flexibility than most traditional wine clubs.
Inspired by John Sweazey’s experiences falling in love with wine in the 1970s through his frequent travels in the French countryside, Turbine is intended to capture that same culture where high-quality wines are made at affordable prices for the purpose of being enjoyed as a part of everyday life. Building upon Anaba’s unpretentious hospitality program, the Turbine line will be accompanied by an ongoing series of experimental and unconventional tasting experiences at the Vintners House in Carneros. At launch, Anaba will introduce a pairing of the Turbine Chardonnay and custom savory donuts courtesy of Marin-based Johnny Doughnuts, in addition to other tasting room activities, including bocce ball and pickleball.
A winery highly committed to ethics, the Turbine line will be Anaba’s most sustainable wines yet and draws its name from the winery’s 45-foot Skystream 3.7 wind turbine. When combined with solar panels, Anaba is able to use 100% renewable energy to power the winery’s electrical needs. The new Turbine bottles use a lighter weight glass to offset carbon emissions and are bottled without capsules. Fruit for Turbine wines are sourced from family-owned vineyards that follow like-minded farming practices, including a commitment to fewer fossil fuels throughout the vineyard, a dedication to regenerative agriculture, and the shared goal of moving towards organic farming practices.
Boasting a hand-painted watercolor label designed in-house by Anaba’s own Emily Hurst, Turbine packaging is intended to convey a sense of movement and depth, with the soft colors of nature. The triangle-shaped label represents the elemental sign for the wind which helps to define Anaba’s home in Carneros, as well as the surrounding Sonoma County regions from which Anaba sources fruit.
