‘The Critic’ collection also debuts new branding with revamped label
February 24, 2022—Glen Rock, NJ: Opici Wines & Spirits invites you to get critical once again—this time with a white varietal. The New Jersey-based importer and producer is proud to present ‘The Critic’ Chardonnay, Opici’s newest venture from Napa Valley, California. The Chardonnay joins ‘The Critic’ Cabernet Sauvignon, providing two incredible values from this esteemed wine region.
Boasting bright, lively notes of green apple and apricot on the front, the Chardonnay also features a subtle hint of almond that rounds out the creamy, smooth finish. The wine can easily be enjoyed on its own but also pairs wonderfully with chicken dishes, lobster, and sushi.
Also debuting with the new wine is a fresh look for the brand, with a revamped label featuring an antique calligraphy pen. This elegant, eye-catching design embodies the overall ethos of the brand.
“After a few successful years rolling out our Napa Cabernet, we are thrilled to continue to grow the ‘The Critic’ brand with the introduction of a Chardonnay,” said Don Opici, Managing Director of Opici Wines & Spirits. “We’ve long been interested in building a Napa brand that is both delicious and accessible. ‘The Critic’ checks both boxes, and we are excited to see what the future holds for the brand—but, of course, we’ll let the public be the critic.”
‘The Critic’ Chardonnay is harvested in late September and aged in oak for at least six months. It will be available at restaurants and fine wine stores nationwide, retailing for $19.99 per 750ml bottle. It is produced by Opici Wines & Spirits, Glen Rock, New Jersey.
Also available is ‘The Critic’ Cabernet Sauvignon, which is created with a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot and is sourced from several sub-appellations within Napa.
