The Press Democrat has announced the lineup for the 2019 North Coast Wine & Food Festival, featuring gold-medal wines from the North Coast Wine Challenge competition. This year’s festivities will take place on Saturday, June 8 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at SOMO Village in Rohnert Park.
In addition to featuring gold medal-winning wines, the event will host an impressive group of over 25 Wine Country chefs, entertainment and a hands on experience with celebrity chef John Ash. This is your opportunity to taste more than 90 exceptional wines from California’s premier wine country regions.
The list of top regional chefs includes: Dustin Valette (Valette), Duskie Estes and John Stewart (Zazu Kitchen + Farm), Mark Stark (Stark Reality Restaurant), Tom Schmidt (John Ash & Co.), Mathew Williams and Moishe Hahn-Schuman (Ramen Gaijin Restaurant), Daniel Kedan (Backyard Forestville), Liza Hinman (The Spinster Sisters), Crista Luedtke (Boon Eat + Drink), Mateo Granados (Mateo’s Cocina Latina), Scott Romano (Dry Creek Kitchen), Krisztian Karkus (Tisza Bistro), Armando Navarro (El Dorado Kitchen), Gerard Nebesky (Gerard’s Paella), Ted Williams (Perch and Plow), Niven Patel (Mercato Pasta & Produce and Bollywood Bar & Clay Oven), Darren McRonald (The Pullman Kitchen), Shane McAnelly (Chalkboard), Kelvin Ott (Beer Baron Bar & Kitchen), Matt Beaudin (Monterey Bay Aquarium restaurants), Jesse Sanborn (Sally Tomatoes), and Hog Island Oyster Co. Additionally, tasting stations will be provided by Cowgirl Creamery, Sift Dessert Bar, City Garden Doughnuts & Coffee, Gourmet Mushrooms, Inc., Two Dog Night Creamery, and Grove Café.

About the North Coast Wine Challenge Wine Competition
The Press Democrat North Coast Wine Challenge took place on April 9 & 10. The competition rates wines exclusively produced and bottled in the North Coast AVAs (Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Sonoma, Marin and parts of Solano Counties). Wines are designated the Best of Class by category, Best of County, and ultimately the Best of the Best as the top award.
This year, there are 1,059 entries, of which 300 were awarded gold medals. The competition includes Luxury Class for wines retailing at over $75. Judging panels are comprised of qualified members of wine media, wine buyers, sommeliers, winemakers, and wine educators.
