Napa, California (August 21, 2024) – The Wine Foundry, Napa Valley’s premiere custom winemaking facility, has announced the 2024 schedule for its Vineyard and Harvest Crush Camps, which give customers and consumers an opportunity to experience almost the entire wine harvest firsthand. The harvest camps are available on a series of dates from early September to early October.
Vineyard Camp
The Wine Foundry Vineyard Camp takes guests into the vineyard for a detailed exploration of the grape growing process, including viticultural philosophy, soil types, trellising systems, irrigation and rootstocks. Led by a team professional, the Vineyard Camp offers a behind-the-scenes experience in the vineyard leading up to harvest. The Wine Foundry works with some of the Napa Valley’s top vineyards, giving it a variety of options for Vineyard Camp visits. The specific vineyard to be visited is determined by grape cluster evaluations to select a site that is close to harvest, which means it may not be known until the last minute. All properties will be located within 20 minutes of The Wine Foundry in Napa. Each camp runs from 10am to 1pm. The cost is $125 per person. Vineyard Camp 2024 dates include September 5th , 6th, 12th, 13th and 19th.
Harvest Crush Camp
The Wine Foundry Harvest Crush Camp brings the excitement and work of the wine harvest together in a hands-on and sleeves rolled up exploration of the first stages of crush at a state-of-the-art winery. The Wine Foundry’s Stuart Ake leads guests through each step of the production process, including sorting, de-stemming and crushing grapes, fermentation and sampling wines that are two hours, two days and two weeks old. It’s an immersive experience, complete with purple fingers and wine-splashed clothing. Harvest Crush Camp is held at The Wine Foundry winery in Napa and runs from 10am to 1pm. The cost is $150 per person. Harvest Crush Camp 2024 dates include September 20th, 21st, 26th, 27th, October 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th and 11th.
In addition to its custom crush winemaking facility for winemakers, The Wine Foundry also offers a unique custom barrel program for the public, which gives consumers the opportunity to create their own signature wine in quantities of a barrel, choosing from an extensive selection of acclaimed vineyards. Launched in 2012 by a small team of creative entrepreneurs and like-minded wine industry veterans, The Wine Foundry quickly set the standard for next generation winemaking by using the latest technology and collaborating with the most coveted vineyards in Napa Valley and Sonoma County growing regions. The experience and no-excuses commitment to quality result in world-worthy wines, which routinely earn high critical acclaim.
“The Wine Foundry’s clients share a universal enthusiasm, where wine consumption turns into wine collection and finally wine creation,” noted co-owner Valerie Von Burg. “The experience and satisfaction of creating your own wine and the pride of sharing it with others is what winemakers live to do. While many people love the idea of quitting their day job and moving their family to live in the vineyard, for most it’s not realistic. The Wine Foundry lifts the veil to winemaking Oz and invites you behind the curtain to experience the journey firsthand.”
