Linne Calodo Unveils Striking New Look for Iconic Paso Robles Blends

May 30th – Paso Robles, CA—Linne Calodo wines just got more colorful with the launch of new label designs across its entire series of iconic blends from Paso Robles’ Willow Creek District, including Problem Child, Nemesis, Overthinker, Rising Tides and Cherry Red.

“Our new labels are unusual, nonconformist and thought provoking, which means they match the juice like never before,” said Owner-Winemaker Matt Trevisan.

The redesign of Linne Calodo’s labels included brightening up the color palette; creating a more cohesive look across the entire family of blends; and developing signature icons and colorways that reflect the individual personality of each wine. The new look is rolling out now starting with the 2022 red blends and 2023 white blends.

“Before we started working on these new designs, we revisited the past 25 years of Linne Calodo wines and the labels that represented them,” Trevisan said. “This stirred up memories of long-ago vintages and key moments in our winemaking history. The new labels were born of this journey, inspired by our own ecosystem of vineyard, wines, space and time.”

Cult of the Blends

Trevisan and his wife Maureen established Linne Calodo in 1998 with a focus on estate-grown blends. Linne Calodo helped spark the Rhône-style blend movement that put Paso Robles on the global map. Concurrently, the Trevisans championed Zinfandel-driven blends that reflect the heritage of the Paso Robles region, where Zinfandel has been a mainstay since the 1800s.

“I could never figure out why varietal wines were considered superior to blends,” Trevisan said. “I also don’t believe in manipulating the chemistry of our wines. Everything we need to make a great wine is out there in the field, and blending allows me to use all of these different varieties to naturally build complexity, mouthfeel and personality.”

Without grape variety names to lean on, Trevisan built a family of distinctive blends with equally individualized names. And now, more than ever before, the new labels reflect the lineage and personality of each blend.

Said Trevisan, “You can get lost in these labels, just like you can get lost in the wines.”

Established in 1998 by Matt and Maureen Trevisan, Linne Calodo is a pioneering icon of Rhône-variety blends and Zinfandel-based wines from Paso Robles. The winery is named after the calcareous Linne Calodo soils found at the estate vineyard in the westside Willow Creek District. Winemaker Matt Trevisan subscribes to a “nature-positive” farming ethos that emphasizes biodiversity, native lifeforms and species coexistence for the sake of creating responsibly grown, vineyard-centric wines.
