Napa Valley Vintners Announces Cyril Chappellet to Lead 2024 Board of Directors

12/20/2023 – Saint Helena, CA – The board of directors of the Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) nonprofit association has elected Cyril Chappellet, President and CEO of Chappellet Vineyard as Board Chair for 2024. Jaime Araujo, founder of Trois Noix was elected Vice Chair and Schatzi Throckmorton, proprietor of Relic Wine Cellars was elected Secretary/Treasurer.

The Napa Valley Vintners nonprofit trade association was established in 1944. The mission of the organization is to promote, protect and enhance Napa Valley. Since its founding, the organization has inspired its members to consistently produce wines of the highest quality, provide environmental leadership and care for the Napa Valley community.

Since 1981, the NVV has invested more than $230 million in its community to provide equitable access to healthcare and opportunity for advancement in children’s education. NVV is dedicated to improving diversity and championing inclusivity in its community and in the wine industry. 

Through signature marketing programs, industry advocacy and comprehensive member resources, NVV works continuously to be the voice of the Napa Valley wine industry for consumers, members of the wine trade and media outlets around the globe. NVV strives to be the essential trade organization for any vintner producing Napa Valley wine in the Napa Valley.

Other members of the 2023 NVV Board of Directors include: Malek Amrani, Owner and CEO, The Vice; Beth Weber Novak, President and Chief Executive Officer, Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery; Ed Matovcik, Vice President of Public Affairs, Robert Mondavi Winery; Carlton McCoy, President and CEO, Heitz Cellar; Doug Shafer, Executive Advisor, Shafer Vineyards; Emma Swain, Chief Executive Officer, St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery; Elizabeth Vianna, Winemaker/General Manager, Chimney Rock Winery; Donna Walker, Proprietor, Pulido~Walker Estate Vineyard and Winery; Andy Erickson, Owner, Favia, past NVV Board Chair and advisor to the board; Robin Baggett, past NVV Board Chair and advisor to the board.

The NVV Board of Directors also serves as the Collective Napa Valley Board of Directors, along with community members William Cary, Steve Fink and Claire Stull.
