Digital Soundtrack and Dundee Hills Pinot Noir Now Available in “Legacy” Gift Box, Benefitting El Sistema
Dundee Hills, Ore. – Dec. 11, 2023 – Sokol Blosser Winery, a pioneering family-owned and -operated winery, is releasing a limited edition Legacy Box: a gift of music, storytelling and wine. The elegant black gift box contains a bottle of Sokol Blosser’s signature 2021 Dundee Hills Pinot Noir and a digital recording of a violin concerto that was specially commissioned to celebrate the historic Sokol Blosser estate vineyards.
The Legacy Box was conceived by Sokol Blosser Founder Susan Sokol Blosser, when she commissioned a violin concerto to capture the essence of the vineyard through the seasons. She worked with composer David Schiff, who created three movements to bring to life the beauty of each stage of the vineyard through the year in music. The concerto was performed live at the Sokol Blosser Winery this past summer by musicians from Chamber Music Northwest, and Susan also wrote an essay about her perspective on each season to complement the concerto.
In honor of the musicians whose talents portrayed the vineyard in music, Sokol Blosser is donating $1 from every Legacy Box sold to El Sistema, an international program to engage children – who otherwise wouldn’t have access – in musical instruction.
“I’ve always loved music, especially violin since my mother was a concert violinist in the 1920s,” says Susan Sokol Blosser. “At the winery, we have wonderful vineyard photos, and I’ve written about the vineyard seasons. So I decided it was time to put the vineyard to music. I wanted to see if a skilled composer could spend time in our vineyard through the seasons and create a piece of music that would celebrate the vineyard musically. The end result by David Schiff is one of the most moving works I’ve ever heard, and I love that we found a way to share it through the Legacy Box. It’s a fusion of all the things that I love!”
Each Legacy Box contains a bottle of 2021 Dundee Hills Estate Pinot Noir and a concert booklet with an exclusive digital recording. The custom box makes a fantastic gift for anyone who loves wine and music. The Legacy Box is available online and at the winery for $55.
