Portland, OR (June 23, 2020) – Angela Vineyards formally launches in the market nationally, with two wines from the Willamette Valley, a Chardonnay and a Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir. Formerly known as Angela Estate, the revised look, feel and winemaking will take the brand in new and fresher directions. Now under the winemaking direction of Alban Debeaulieu, Angela Vineyards is owned by Beck Family Estates, which also includes sparkling wine house Graham Beck and Steenberg Vineyards, both from South Africa, as well as the forthcoming Abbott Claim, also in Oregon.
“A natural evolution of the brand started at Angela when Alban joined the winery in 2017. The re-launch is a reflection of the work he is doing in the cellar, as well as the Beck Family’s value of craft, connections and an alignment of key pillars of the Beck Family Estates, which are ‘tread lightly’ and ‘do your part”, says Kristin Marchesi, Vice President of Winery Operations USA, Beck Family Estates.
The fresh perspective of Angela Vineyards wines is a reflection of winemaker Alban Debeaulieu’s background and training. The goal is to return to the craft of wine through thoughtful and intentional choices in the process. Grapes are sourced from carefully selected sites, each managed in an ecologically minded way that is most beneficial for the vineyard and its surroundings. Only natural yeasts are used in vinifcation, always striving to produce fresh wines that are expressive of place, vintage and craft.
Angela Vineyards invites wine lovers to experience the wines through an intimate, outdoor tasting experience re-invented for this summer, situated in their vineyard in Carlton, OR. Reservations required. Wines to be available through distribution nationally include a 2017 Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir and a 2018 Chardonnay from the Willamette Valley, both priced at $38 suggested retail.
