Group Vicard Uses State-of-the-Art Technology to Continue Uninterrupted Production During COVID-19 Crisis

Group VicardNAPA, April 15, 2020- Group Vicard, which includes Tonnellerie Vicard and Vicard Generation 7 cooperages, uses state-of-the-art technology to continue uninterrupted production during the Covid-19 crisis.

Many cooperages around the world have been forced to stop production during the Covid-19 crisis because the logistics of traditional coopering.  Group Vicard has continued production uninterrupted, in part because their patented systems designed to eliminate barrel to barrel variability are highly automated.  The 18-hectare campus and cooperage facility needed only slight modifications to workstations to increase social distancing.  The group also implemented heightened hygiene controls at each stage of production and allowed all office staff to work from home.  With a current capacity of over 50,000 barrels per year, there are not forecasting or anticipating any delays in production or shipping.

Tonnellerie Vicard and Vicard Generation 7 are solely owned by Mr. Jean-Charles Vicard.  In addition to the 2 cooperages, tank facility, stainless steel tank company and oak adjunct business, Mr. Vicard also owns 2 stave mills which supply 100% of their wood for barrels, tanks and adjuncts.  The group maintains a 3-year supply in the wood yard at all times.
