Rutherford, Napa Valley, November 2019—Peju Province Winery and its sister property, Calmére Estate Winery, are making donations in the month of November to the Sonoma County Resilience Fund.
“We were so moved by the community’s outpouring of support and concern during the Kincade Fire,” explains Ariana Peju, owner. “We join in thanking the firefighters and first responders who worked around the clock to get the Kincade Fire fully contained and to protect the community,” she said.
“Our hearts go out to those who suffered and we feel so lucky that our Peju and Calmére staff, as well as all of our vineyard properties, were not significantly affected. We have found a way to support our friends and neighbors in Sonoma,” Ariana added.
Peju and Calmére will donate $10 from every purchase of $100 (or greater) to the Sonoma County Resilience Fund for the month of November. This includes purchases made in the tasting rooms and online. Guests can make tasting room reservations at peju.com or calmereestate.com. Online shopping can start with the winery’s 2019 Holiday Collection, which features carefully curated gift sets and wine selections ranging from a 15-bottle set of The Stained Glass Collection for $1,320 to a Cabernet & Caramels combination for $60.
“We have heard from our customers asking how they can help. We would like to simply remind everyone to come and visit wine country—whether Sonoma or Napa. It’s a great time of year, with terrific weather and still the hustle and bustle of harvest in the air,” Ariana says.
“We are grateful to the Peju family and their team for this generous donation, and for holding Sonoma County in their hearts as we begin to recover,” said Caitlin Childs, Director of Communications, Community Foundation Sonoma County. First established to support long-term recovery efforts from the 2017 North Bay firestorm, the Sonoma County Resilience Fund continues to be a source of long-term aid for Sonoma County. The Foundation will distribute funds raised from donations such as Peju’s in four core areas of grant-making: helping individuals who were impacted by the fires, healing the long-term effects of trauma, housing solutions for our community, and community preparedness.
