Bordeaux, France, April 30, 2019 – Mouton Cadet, a leading AOC Bordeaux producer announced today its release of the 2018 Mouton Cadet Rosé. Composed primarily of Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the Mouton Cadet Rosé retails for $9.99 and is imported by Shaw-Ross International.
With rosé outpacing the overall wine category during the summer months, and already seeing double digit growth across all price points (Nielsen State of the Wine Industry Report, presented at 2019 Unified Wine Symposium) it is an opportune moment for the Mouton Cadet Rosé to hit the market.
With the 2018 vintage, Mouton Cadet has created a true Bordeaux rosé that offers everything you expect of such a wine: fresh, succulent and uncomplicated while remaining true to the terroir. Sourced in the north of the Blaye region and in the Entre-Deux-Mers, the diversity in the make-up of the soils, which include clay, limestone and gravel, reveals different aspects of the grape varieties used to compose the Mouton Cadet Rosé. The 2018 Mouton Cadet Rosé embodies freshness and smoothness. Lighter pink in color, reminiscent of lychee peel, the wine’s glittering color conveys its succulence.
“Mouton Cadet’s origins are in the heart of the Bordeaux terroirs. The soils there are renowned as a perfect match for the local grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Our Mouton Cadet winemakers have perfectly mastered the art of blending to adjust the proportion of each grape variety and offer consumers a fruity, fresh, balanced and elegant wine.”
