Winestyr Hires William Whelan, Certified Sommelier, as New Vice President of Wine

As a Certified Sommelier, William Whelan brings passion, drive and extensive food and wine experience to the Winestyr team.

Winestyr is excited to announce the appointment of our new Vice President of Wine, William Whelan. William comes to us from New York where he was working in the wholesale business with Skurnik Wines, a nationally renowned importer. As a certified sommelier and with years of food and wine experience, he will utilize his extensive industry connections to continue growing our already star-studded portfolio of the best small-production wines in the country.

“Having the chance to manage and grow this incredible portfolio of wineries was an opportunity I couldn’t imagine turning down” said Whelan. “What the Winestyr team built always impressed me from afar and I’m incredibly excited to be a part of the future.”

Reporting to the CEO, Bob WIlson, William is responsible for managing our current winery portfolio, selecting new wineries to join our platform and wine education for both our internal team and our Winestyr Wine Club members. “Will’s passion and energy for fine wine, along with his commitment to professional excellence and shared vision for the future of the industry, made him our top candidate for this important position and we’re excited to have him as part of the Winestyr team.” said CEO, Bob Wilson.

It’s safe to say that Will has really hit the ground running. In his short time with the company, he has implemented weekly blind tasting practice and weekly wine theory lessons for the company, signed several new wineries to the platform, including Piedrasassi, and has hosted several custom events for members.

We are very excited to have him on the Winestyr team and are looking forward to the tremendous growth he will bring to our wine portfolio.
