Celebrating five years of philanthropy, the Baldacci family supports vital programs for food security and childcare in Napa Valley
Napa, CA. January 28, 2025 — For the past five years, Baldacci Family Vineyards has proudly partnered with local Napa nonprofit organizations to make meaningful contributions that address critical community needs. Over the years, Napa CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and Puertas Abiertas Community Resource Center (PACRC) have been among the recipients of nearly $30,000 in combined donations. This year, in celebration of their fifth year of philanthropic commitment, the Baldacci family has partnered with Community Action of Napa Valley (CANV) to expand the impact of their annual donation.

Baldacci Family Vineyards creates an annual charitable contribution fund based on a $10 per active wine club member assessment that is determined on December 15. Unlike previous years, where the entire donation was delivered in one installment to one charity, this year’s contribution was thoughtfully structured to provide diversified support throughout 2025. Ten-thousand dollars of the total $20,013 charitable fund was gifted to CANV in December 2024, with the remaining funds to be distributed quarterly throughout 2025. “Our membership is growing, and we believe we can do better by sharing our charitable contributions among multiple Napa County charities,” said Kellie Duckhorn, General Manager of Baldacci Family Vineyards.
This innovative approach allows Baldacci Family Vineyards to make an ongoing impact, enabling CANV to provide vital services to Napa County residents. CANV’s programs address some of the community’s most pressing needs, including food security and affordable childcare. “We are immensely proud to partner with Community Action of Napa Valley,” said Thomas Baldacci, Proprietor of Baldacci Family Vineyards. “For me, family is at the heart of everything we do, and supporting an organization that delivers essential services like food and childcare to local families resonates deeply with our values and mission.”
Michael Baldacci, Winemaker and son of Thomas Baldacci, also shared his perspective: “As a Napa Valley community member, I’ve witnessed firsthand how strong communities are built on support and collaboration. At Baldacci Family Vineyards, we believe in crafting more than just exceptional wines—we aim to cultivate a legacy of giving back. Partnering with CANV allows us to extend that legacy by directly supporting the families and individuals who make this valley so special.”
Community Action of Napa Valley has been a cornerstone of local support since its founding in 1956 under the name Napa City County for Economic Opportunity. Today, CANV operates three core programs that serve Napa County’s most vulnerable populations: Napa Food Bank distributes nutritious food to low-income families and partners with other nonprofit organizations to reach those in need; Meals on Wheels delivers weekly meals to over 500 homebound seniors across Napa County; and CANV Kids Development & Family Program provides affordable, high-quality childcare for children aged 18 months to pre-K at two locations, fostering stability for working families.
Through these initiatives, CANV feeds more than 15,000 individuals and families each month, while also actively participating in local initiatives like the Continuum of Care, Live Healthy Napa Valley, and the Area Agency on Aging. At Community Action of Napa Valley, our mission is to ensure every individual—no matter their age, background, or circumstance—has access to life’s most basic needs,” said Drene Johnson, Executive Director of CANV. “The generous and ongoing support from Baldacci Family Vineyards not only sustains vital programs such as our Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, and affordable childcare, but also empowers us to adapt to the ever-changing needs of our neighbors. Together, we’re building a stronger, more resilient Napa Valley for everyone.”
The Baldacci family’s generosity is deeply rooted in their values. As proprietors of a family-owned winery in the heart of Napa Valley, they understand the importance of supporting the community that sustains them. “Providing food and childcare are basic necessities and the building blocks of family life,” said Thomas Baldacci. “We are fortunate to run a successful winery in this amazing community, and it is both our privilege and responsibility to give back.”
As Baldacci Family Vineyards wine club membership continues to grow, so does their commitment to philanthropy. With plans to expand their membership, the Baldacci family is determined to enhance their contributions year after year. Their acclaimed wines, including the 2021 Brenda’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon—which recently earned a remarkable 98 points from renowned critic Jeb Dunnuck—serve as both a testament to their dedication to excellence and a cornerstone of their success.
Through their partnership with CANV and their unwavering commitment to community, Baldacci Family Vineyards exemplifies the spirit of Napa Valley—a place where family, wine, and community come together in harmony.
