The Champagne Club Awards Champagne Pommery as Their 2024 Champagne House of the Year

January 20, 2025 — Champagne Pommery is thrilled to announce that they have been named the 2024 Champagne House of the Year by The Champagne Club, the world’s largest independent source of Champagne expertise. Helmed by Champagne expert Richard Juhlin, The Champagne Club presents awards in 20+ categories to the most memorable Champagnes each year to recognize and celebrate the wine and the region.

Richard Juhlin, who has held the world record for most Champagnes tasted since 1998 among many other accolades describes Pommery as “undoubtedly a great name in historical terms,” praising its consistent house style, exceptional vintages, and innovative winemaking techniques.

On receiving this distinguished award, Pauline Vranken, CEO of Vranken-Pommery America, expressed gratitude:

“We are honored to be named Champagne House of the Year by The Champagne Club. This recognition reflects our commitment to quality, innovation, and the enduring spirit of Champagne Pommery. It is a testament to the extraordinary vision of Madame Pommery and the dedication of our entire team.”

Champagne Pommery is one of the largest Grand Cru landowners, utilizing modern vinification methods while still maintaining their fresh and elegant house style thanks to winemaker Clement Pierlot. Inspired by the bold spirit of Madame Pommery, the creator of brut champagne, the Maison continues to innovate while honoring her legacy.

In his tasting, Juhlin highlights the cuvée de prestige, Louise, as a standout expression, celebrated for its silky texture and flowery bouquet from Avize and its soft structure from Aÿ. On their portfolio, Juhlin says this:

“The modern portfolio is also impressive and aristocratic. The vintage wine is the best wine for the cellar. Magnums of the fantastic 2004 is still around and Louis Pommery Rosé is the hidden secret. Each vintage of this delicate and pale nectar is world-class.”
