Kyle Beyer Assumes Key Leadership Role at Acclaimed Sonoma Valley Producer
(August 2024 | Sonoma, CA) – Bartholomew Estate Winery, known for producing exceptional estate-grown wines from certified sustainable vineyards (in the very birthplace of California viticulture no less!) is pleased to share the news of a recent addition to their leadership team.
Kyle Beyer has joined the ranks as Director of Hospitality, a role to which he brings a track record of high performing sales & hospitality management in the wine industry. He will be managing all areas of the winery’s DTC business. Beyer is as passionate about cultivating a positive and encouraging work environment as he is about offering the highest caliber hospitality to the winery’s guests and Club members. His most immediate focus, in addition to growing sales across all facets of the business, will be on expanding the winery’s already stellar lineup of on-site experiences and developing relationships with destination management companies who specialize in representing clients looking for an immersive and individually tailored gathering.
Beyer, a native Californian, was most recently Director of Sales & Hospitality of another Sonoma-based winery, where he led a successful team, expanded winery experiences and cultivated excellent hospitality. He is grateful to have had the opportunity to grow there – both personally and professionally – for almost a decade as he looks forward to a successful future.
“The traits that Kyle possesses – his breadth of knowledge and industry savvy, his positive attitude, his genuine interest in and care about both our employees and the guest experience – they all certainly make him a valuable asset to our leadership team and will help expand our capabilities as a small producer; but they also just make him a person you want to work with every day,” says Keith LaVine, President and General Manager of Bartholomew Estate Winery.
Anna Pope, Trustee of The Frank H. Bartholomew Foundation, Co-Owner of the Winery adds: “We are very excited to have the opportunity to have Kyle join us. He is a warm and compassionate leader, with an innate sense of what constitutes great hospitality, and is a gifted team builder. His attention to detail and professionalism will help us continue to build on the foundation we have worked so hard on since we opened five years ago.”
About Bartholomew Estate Winery
Bartholomew Estate Winery is nestled in the heart of what is now known as Bartholomew Park, an enchanting 375-acre property considered to be the birthplace of California viticulture. The first privately owned vineyard in the Sonoma Valley was planted here, and the property was once home to Count Agoston Haraszthy, the father of the California wine industry. In 1943, Frank “Bart” Bartholomew and his wife, Antonia, purchased the property – which by then had fallen into dormancy and disrepair – and restored it back to much of its former beauty. As part of their estate plan, the Bartholomews established The Frank H. Bartholomew Foundation, a non-profit trust with the sole purpose of ensuring that others could enjoy the property long after they were gone. The ability to enjoy the park – which is open to the public at no charge – was, and remains, the Bartholomews’ gift to their beloved local community. Visitors enjoy hiking trails, walking paths, horseback riding, three picnic areas, gorgeous vineyard views, ponds, streams, and stands of majestic oak trees. To honor the legacy of the Bartholomews, and in keeping with their generous spirit, all wine sale profits go directly to preserve and protect the park.
The winery, which opened its doors in 2019, was formed by Anna Pope, as Trustee, and winemaker Kevin Holt, with the express purpose of preserving and protecting Bartholomew Park. While still relative newcomers to the flourishing Sonoma wine scene, they have already made a name for themselves with an ever exciting and inventive lineup of seasonal events and collaborations, in addition to notable wine offerings: a broad collection of both exceptional estate-grown wines as well as a select number of wines crafted from much sought-after, off-property Sonoma Valley vineyards, all certified sustainable. Perennial favorites of guests, club members, and critics alike include the Garden Block Zinfandel, Viviano’s Block Syrah, and Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. The lineup also includes Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, a Marsanne-Roussanne blend, and rosé of Zinfandel. All wines are sold through the winery only.
Bartholomew Estate Winery is conveniently located just seven blocks from the downtown Sonoma Plaza, and is open daily from 11:00am-4:30pm for tastings by appointment and bottles-to-go. Walk-ins for tastings are also welcome. For additional information and updates, please visit www.bartholomewestate.
