Jonathan “Jon” Shuck has joined The Boswell Company as Business Development Manager for central and northern California. John brings a robust background in winemaking and wine research at companies ranging in size from small family operations to large corporate enterprises. Equipped with a Bachelor of Science in Wine and Viticulture from Cal Poly and an MBA in Wine Business from Sonoma State, Jon brings both academic rigor and practical experience to his role, making him a valuable addition to the team at The Boswell Company. His passion for travel, fine dining, and the culinary relationship between food and wine drives his commitment to help winemakers and distillers select the best barrels for their specific needs.
Most recently Jon spent four years at Draxton Wines as assistant winemaker focusing on smoke taint research, as well as production of Chardonnay and Cabernet for custom crush clients. Jon is originally from Texas but has called Sonoma County home for several years, which as an avid cyclist and wine lover has been the ideal fit. About his new position Jon says, “I am excited to join a family-owned local business, where I can contribute to a company that supports my values.”
