International Cava Day Returns with Design Competition, Bridging Cava and Artistry for Enthusiasts and Professionals Alike

The winner of the Cava Crown Cap Design Contest will see their artwork featured on a limited-edition Cava crown cap.

VILAFRANCA DEL PENEDÈS, July 3, 2024 — Celebrate International Cava Day with the second annual global digital initiative linking Cava and fine art. The Cava Design Contest highlights this occasion through an international graphic design competition under the hashtag #CavaDesignContest, welcoming participants with relevant skills from around the globe. The competition invites submissions for a limited-edition Cava crown cap design.

The winning design will be featured on a special edition of D.O. Cava bottles, offering visibility and recognition worldwide. Additionally, the winner will receive an exclusive edition Cava set featuring their design and be featured across D.O. Cava’s communication channels.

The jury, including D.O. Cava representatives and designer María Diamantes—renowned for her style characterised by simple, striking silhouettes in a reduced colour palette—will select the winning design. Entries open on July 12 (International Cava Day) and close on July 22, with the winner announced on July 26.

By engaging both graphic design professionals and enthusiastic amateurs, D.O. Cava aims to inspire unique, creative designs. The coveted Cava crown caps, historically crafted in both silver and gold, are highly sought after by collectors and will showcase the unique design of the competition winner.

Last year, the competition received 35 submissions, and the winner Anthony Weber’s design was featured on a limited edition run of 1,600 bottles of Cava de Guarda Superior.
