Bodega Trivento Is the World’s No. 1 Best-Selling Argentinian Wine for the Fourth Year in a Row

(June 25, 2024; Mendoza, Argentina)—Bodega Trivento, certified B Corp winery, is thrilled to announce that it has been recognized as the world’s top-selling Argentinian wine for the fourth consecutive year. This acknowledgment comes by way of the 2023 report from IWSR Drinks Analysis, the preeminent global alcoholic beverage market research and trends firm. Anchored by a continued commitment to innovative winemaking techniques and sustainable business practices, Trivento continues to grow its presence in markets across the world.

Trivento initiated a comprehensive growth plan five years ago and has seen an 18% increase in volume and a 21% increase in value since then. As part of Trivento’s commercial strategy, the winery has widened its product mix to include robust investments in the premium and luxury categories with the Trivento Reserve, Golden Reserve and Eolo lines. Across the Trivento portfolio, the winery has established a distribution network spanning more than 60 markets globally.

“We are proud to see Bodega Trivento’s impact extend far beyond our home in Mendoza, Argentina,” says Marcos Jofré, CEO. “Domestic wine sales rose by 63% in 2023, and our other key markets, including the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom and Brazil, also saw significant growth.” Bodega Trivento is the second-highest netting sales brand within the Viña Concha y Toro family of wineries.

For years, Trivento’s continual investments in vineyard holdings and cutting-edge green technology have enabled the winery to achieve even greater efficiency in resource utilization as well as control over the quality of every single Trivento bottling. Trivento Eolo Malbec is the pinnacle of Trivento’s offerings, an exquisite single-vineyard bottling from century old vines in the heart of Luján de Cuyo. Since its launch, the wine has garnered acclaim from some of the world’s most renowned wine critics.

Trivento Reserve Malbec was the second-largest wine brand in the U.S. in 2023, and the winery’s impressive growth is continuing into 2024. According to a series of NielsenIQ Scantrack reports from the 52-week period ending Feb. 24, 2024, Trivento is the top Argentine wine brand in the British market and the Trivento Reserve Malbec claims the No. 1 spot in red wine market sales, considering all origins. Building on the winery’s success with red Malbec, Bodega Trivento revolutionized the popular category when it launched the Trivento Reserve White Malbec in 2019. The wine launched in the United States last year with the 2022 vintage in Florida, New York and Georgia—and immediately sold out. With the 2023 vintage, 16 additional states have opened distribution, production has scaled up to meet demand, and numerous other Argentinian wineries have since followed suit in producing white Malbecs of their own.

“American consumers have a strong connection with Trivento, and today it is the second-largest Argentinian wine brand in the premium segment in the U.S.,” said Rodrigo Maturana, President of Marketing for Viña Concha y Toro USA. “This impressive growth is a testament to Trivento’s innovative spirit, unwavering commitment to sustainability, and excellence in winemaking. As we continue to expand Trivento’s distribution stateside, we look forward to bringing these beloved wines to more and more consumers.”

One of the largest B Corp-certified organizations in the Argentinian agricultural sector, Bodega Trivento continually commits to sustainable agricultural, vinicultural, and social and economic practices across its three production facilities. As a result of this ongoing work, the winery recently advanced its voluntary commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 10 years, shifting the goal date from 2050 to 2040. Guided by the principles of sustainable innovation, the winery plans to continue infrastructure development at the winery’s home base in Maipú, Argentina, building upon its robust gastronomic and hospitality programming as well as wine portfolio.

About Bodega Trivento
Rooted in the energy of Argentina’s passion for wine, Trivento—meaning three winds—is synonymous with expressive, terroir-driven Malbec that paints a vivid portrait of Mendoza’s high-altitude vineyards in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. The character and quality of each wine is guided by the spirited vision of Chief Winemaker Germán Di Cesare, who honors the varied soils, mountain snowmelt and powerful winds that shape Mendoza’s vines.

In the United States, three distinct Trivento collections highlight the unique characteristics of two coveted sub-regions in Mendoza, Luján de Cuyo and Uco Valley: Eolo, a single-vineyard luxury Malbec from century-old vines; Golden Reserve, a passionate expression of historic Malbec vines and Reserve, a beloved collection from estate vines. Founded in 1996, Trivento today welcomes visitors to experience the wine and culture of Mendoza at Bodega Trivento in Maipú or through a virtual tour.
