Cabernet Corp Celebrates Women Winemakers

La Playa and Belasco Wineries

Novato, CA – March 14, 2024 – Cabernet Corp, a leading nationally distributed wine importer renowned for its selection of wines from Chile, Argentina, and New Zealand, is thrilled to announce its partnership with pioneering and innovative women winemakers as part of its commitment to celebrating diversity and inclusion in the wine industry. Women in Wine Day is observed on March 25th to celebrate women in the wine industry and Cabernet Corp is excited to put the spotlight on two of its exceptional women winemakers.

Pamela Avilés

In a transformative shift away from the male-dominated landscape, women winemakers are increasingly assuming leadership roles, shaping the future of the industry with their expertise, creativity, and dedication. Cabernet Corp proudly champions these trailblazing women, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the world of wine.

Among the exceptional women winemakers Cabernet Corp is honored to collaborate with is Pamela Avilés, celebrated for her innovative winemaking style and technique. With a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering and a master’s degree in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of Chile, Pamela has served as the chief winemaker for Viña La Playa for over a decade. Her commitment to sustainable and vegan winemaking practices is reflected in her production of varietally true, low-intervention wines that embody the essence of each family-owned estate.

Another esteemed partner is Belén Muñoz, Chief Winemaker at Belasco de Baquedano Winery in Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo, Argentina. With deep roots in the renowned agricultural region of Mendoza, Belén’s journey in winemaking has spanned over 13 years, during which she has honed her skills across various domains. Belén’s philosophy emphasizes the importance of agricultural techniques and minimal intervention in the winery to allow for the fullest expression of varietals and unique terroirs.

Furthermore, Cabernet Corp is committed to supporting socio-economically diverse groups, as exemplified by its partnership with Don Rodolfo wines. A portion of every bottle sold is donated to support aspiring Argentinean artists, covering costs such as art supplies, studio time, and education, thereby fostering creativity and cultural enrichment within communities.

With these partnerships, Cabernet Corp continues to redefine industry norms, championing diversity, sustainability, and excellence in winemaking. Through collaboration and innovation, we celebrate the rich tapestry of talent that women bring to the world of wine.
