SONOMA, CA (February 23, 2024) —La Prenda Wines is thrilled to release three new phenomenal wines. “Changing weather brings changing moods seems to be the theme here,” enthused winemaker Mike Cox of the new wines. “Whether it’s a cold rainy night and time for a hearty stew and some cabernet or one of the beautiful days after the rain, when you just want to soak up the sun on the patio and a sparkling wine fits the bill.”

95476 2021 Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($30)

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon was blended with select lots of Merlot and a small amount of Cabernet Franc. The firm, chewy Cabernet Sauvignon fruit is well balanced by the supple darker fruits of the Merlot and spice box that the Cabernet Franc brings. The palate is refreshing and graceful with an elegant finish.  The wine is perfect with whatever you might have on the grill!

La Prenda Wines 2022 Brut Rose ($32)

This blend of different vineyards throughout lower Sonoma Valley highlights the fresh red fruit flavors that cool climate sparkling pinot noir is known for. This dry rose is perfect for a summer party, served with a charcuterie board or any salty savory snack!

Fifth Hill Wines 2022 Pétillant-Naturel, “The Ripper” ($34)
“The Ripper” is an ode to the roots of one of the 5th Generation of Sonoma farming families and their ties to construction and vineyard development. (For our gentle readers, that is a “D9 Ripper” produced by Caterpillar.)  Pet Nat is a freshly fermented wine bottled with active yeast present, giving the wine its natural sparkle. This pétillant-naturel (meaning “naturally sparkling”) is a celebration of vibrant fruit flavors and freshness with lots of crushed strawberry and floral aromas. Low alcohol and dry acid make this perfect to chill and serve with creamy cheeses and charcuterie.
