Lost Sierra Wine Co. Brings Great Wine to the Great Outdoors

Family of fine wine & hospitality veterans crafts wine for the wilderness lovers

SANTA ROSA, CA, January 23, 2024: Lost Sierra Wine Co. announced the inaugural release of its outdoor-inspired California wines, handcrafted for adventures shared with family and friends. Proprietors Chris and Christina Millard founded the brand with their children, Aaron Millard and Katherine Graff, to merge the family’s shared passions: fine wine, and exploring the remote landscapes of Northern California’s Lost Sierra region.

“After years of working and living in world-renowned wine country, we found a new way of life in the Lost Sierra – as well as the inspiration for our family wine business,” says Lost Sierra Wine Co.’s co-founder and CFO, Christina Millard. Nestled among the peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the branching forks of the Feather River, the Lost Sierra remains mostly unexplored. Lost Sierra Wine Co.’s approachable, handcrafted wines are built to pair with the outdoor adventures this region offers in abundance. Sourced from the iconic growing regions the Millards know so well, each of the wines embodies a unique element of the Lost Sierra that they hope to share and explore.

Winemaker and co-founder Chris Millard has crafted more than thirty vintages in his career, which began at Bernardus, Sterling Vineyards, and Newton Vineyards. As the head of winemaking and viticulture for one of the world’s largest wine companies, he oversaw iconic and legendary brands such as Robert Mondavi Winery, Prisoner Wine Company, To Kalon Wine Company, Booker Vineyard, Ruffino, and Kim Crawford. Lost Sierra Wine Co. marks a return to the inspiration of his early days: handcrafting wines with passion and purpose, for family and friends to enjoy.

Lost Sierra Wine Co. is actively seeking a tasting room space in its namesake region, but the wines are currently available for purchase on the winery’s website (lostsierrawineco.com) and at select accounts in Sonoma County and the Northern Sierra Nevada area. The inaugural release includes the following five wines: 2023 Switchback Rosé, 2022 Trailhead Chardonnay, 2021 Altitude Red Blend, 2022 Singletrack Pinot Noir, 2022 Elevation Red Blend.
