Partnership with U.S. Hunger to Provide Meals in New York, Oregon, Texas, and Washington
(November 13, 2023) Graham Beck, a leading producer of sparkling wines from South Africa, is pleased to announce the second year partnering with U.S. Hunger to provide meals for families in need. In 2022, the Give Beck, Give Back campaign provided over 20,000 servings to families in need, and this year’s holiday campaign hopes to provide even more assistance.
For every bottle purchased between Nov 1 and Dec 31, two meals will be delivered to families in the state the bottle was purchased in. The Give Beck, Give Back campaign is active in New York, Washington, Oregon, and Texas. As families around the country gather for holiday meals, providing food can make the holidays a little brighter for those in need. The value in removing the worry about being able to feed your family is immeasurable.
U.S. Hunger started in 2010, providing meals to earthquake-ravaged villages in Haiti. Over the last decade millions of meals have been provided globally and throughout the U.S. Through their virtual food bank Full Cart, U.S. Hunger provides meals domestically. Through Hunger Projects and Disaster Relief, U.S. Hunger programs can sustain people while they rebuild their communities. The International wing of U.S. Hunger aims to feed hungry children globally:Meals have been distributed across 53 countries, working with local partners to ensure the assistance makes a difference in the areas that need it most.
During last year’s campaign, Give Beck, Give Back donated over 20,000 servings to U.S. households, including 188 boxes of shelf stable items and 37 boxes of fresh produce. Recipients of aid from U.S. Hunger report often worrying about having enough to eat, and skipping meals to save money is common. 73% of recipients report chronic illness in their household, and a lack of access to reliable transportation keeps people from accessing services or getting medical care. For these families, providing fresh, reliable food is a huge step in improving their lives.
The partnership with U.S Hunger is a natural extension of Graham Beck’s efforts toward sustainability—both environmentally and socially. The long-term goal of the Beck Family to uplift and enrich peoples’ lives is a powerful legacy that continues to inspire the company’s philanthropic efforts. The Graham & Rhona Beck Development Trust (GRBDT) focuses on the Robertson, South Africa area, the benefits of employees and the wider communities surrounding the Graham Beck Estate. The partnership with U.S. Hunger is an extension of the Beck Family’s philanthropic efforts into other regions of the world.
