Métier by DeLille Cellars Wins Best in Show at Annual Wine Business PACK Design Awards

WOODINVILLE, WA — October 5th, 2023 — DeLille Cellars, an acclaimed Washington State winery, is proud to announce that its new Métier wine brand has been voted Best in Show at the Wine Business PACK Awards, highlighting the best packaging designs across the wine industry. DeLille’s Métier also won first place and people’s choice in the Best Series category for the brand’s Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Red Blend labels.

“We are thrilled to hear that the wine industry loves the artwork and design of our Métier labels as much as we do. The labels honor the many hands and immeasurable hard work by our vineyard partners and winemaking team that go into making beautiful and delicious wines. Our team is excited to share these wines with consumers across the country and globe,” said Janna Rinker, Vice President of Sales.

The word Métier means craft, trade or forte, and the brand was developed to showcase the amazing quality and diversity of Washington’s Columbia Valley AVA and to introduce more consumers to Washington wine and DeLille Cellars. DeLille commissioned Becca Fuhrman, a local Seattle artist, to create artwork that embodied and celebrated the human elements across winemaking, from grape to glass (watch the artist here). The sun and moon iconography tie in the connection to the land and the importance of Washington’s unique diurnal shift which offers cool nights and warm sunny days that help make the Columbia Valley AVA a remarkable wine grape growing region.

“The Best in Show recognition at the Wine Business PACK Awards is a testament to the passion and dedication of our team here at DeLille to elevate and celebrate Washington State wine,” said Tom Dugan, CEO. “I am very proud of the excellent job done by our marketing and sales teams to develop unique and beautiful packaging to pair with the amazing quality achieved by our winemaking team. It’s an honor to be recognized by Wine Business Monthly.”

Métier is available in 35 states and four countries and has seen rapid growth since the first release of Cabernet Sauvignon in 2022. DeLille Cellars is planning additional announcements about the brand, along with a new website launch, this fall.

The Wine Business PACK Awards, a highly respected packaging competition in the wine industry, recognizes excellence across a variety of packaging mediums and styles. “[Métier] had the perfect balance of fun and serious, educational and accessible in its design, and worked well as both a series of wines and standalone bottle, earning Best in Show,” wrote Erin Kirschenmann, Managing Editor for Wine Business Monthly. The full list of competition winners can be found here: wbmevents.com/pack/entries/.
