Wine Release Party on Sunday, October 15
Portland, OR. (Sept. 28, 2023) – Corollary Wines, known for exclusively producing distinctive traditional method sparkling wines in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, has announced a new special offering coming in October, including its first Cuvée One extended tirage, as well as its first magnum offerings with shipping available. Corollary Wines will host a club pickup and wine release party on Sunday, October 15, with tickets available to the public here.
Each year, Corollary takes a small amount of Cuvée One and hides it away, leaving it to age for five years and then waiting another ten months after disgorging the bottles to release. The extended aging adds layers of toasty brioche and hints of caramel. Now, only 40 cases of the brand’s first ever Cuvée One extended tirage will be available.
Corollary is also excited to present its first magnum bottling this fall, with its 2017 Cuvée One extended tirage available in 1.5L magnums ($160) in addition to standard 750mL bottles ($75). Only 190 magnums of the wine were made, which are double the size of regular wine bottles, and included in the winery’s flat-rate shipping options.
As a wine club member exclusive, Corollary will release a late-disgorged 2019 Cuvée One ($45) and 2019 Cuvée One Rosé ($55). Corollary sets aside small amounts of Cuvée One and Cuvée One Rosé just for club members every year, and gives it six extra months on lees for additional aging. Those interested in purchasing should join Corollary’s wine club to secure allocations.
Corollary’s wine club offers first access to new and limited release wines, including magnums and extended tirage bottlings. Members may receive six or 12 bottles twice annually, discounts on all wines, complimentary annual winemaker tastings, and invitations to club-only events and dinners.
Additionally, owner/winemaker-led tastings are available by appointment at Ruddick/Wood in Newberg this season. Tastings offer visitors the opportunity to sample a flight of handcrafted, limited-production Willamette Valley sparkling wines, get the backstory on all the vineyards and how the wines are made, and connect directly with the owners/winemakers. Appointments typically run 60-90 minutes and have a $50 per guest fee that can be waived with the purchase of three 750mL bottles or a wine club membership. Corollary recently purchased 57 acres in the Eola-Amity Hills, where they are developing Oregon’s first privately-owned property designed from the ground up for sparkling wines. Plans for the land, which will be developed and managed under the guidance of permaculture and regenerative agriculture principles, include an estate vineyard and tasting room.
