New Hillsboro Facility Breaks Ground October 1 Ahead of the 2024 Harvest
Hillsboro, Oregon (August 31, 2023) — Ackley Brands Custom Services, a new premier winemaking and wine storage facility, will break ground October 1, 2023, and plans to welcome custom crush partners for the 2024 harvest in the Willamette Valley. Ackley Brands will move production of their Oregon wineries Montinore Estate, Landlines Estates, and Borealis Vintners to the new facility.
Located on the western edge of Hillsboro in the Willamette Valley, at 4282 NE 30th Street, Ackley Brands Custom Services will be a state-of-the-art facility that is Demeter-certified Biodynamic®, as well as certified organic. Ackley Brands Custom Services will be the first custom crush facility in the Pacific Northwest that is certified Biodynamic and act as an incubator for winemakers who want to make Demeter-certified wine. The facility will also be able to accommodate standard, non-certified wine production.

The new 35,000-square-foot facility will feature state-of-the-art design and technology, including a Pulsair system and three temperature-controlled storage rooms, as well as cold storage space for fruit chilling, a dedicated space many facilities don’t have. Three different barrel storage rooms will cater to different winemaking needs, and the facility will accommodate still and sparkling winemaking. The space will be equipped with various sized tanks, and the multiple barrel rooms and case storage provide capacity to produce and age in excess of 250,000 cases of wine annually.
Custom crush partnerships offer opportunities for those who want to make wine but need the expertise, space, and resources to do so. Facilities like the forthcoming Ackley Brands Custom Services support growers and producers by connecting them with winemaking equipment and a bonded winery capable of small- and large-scale production.
