Largest Single Owner Collection of Screaming Eagle Ever to Appear at Auction at Christie’s. 1 – 13 SEPTEMBER
August 29th – Los Angeles – Christie’s Wine Department in America is delighted to present: California Only Online: Featuring A Private Library Collection of Screaming Eagle and Other Napa Classics, open for bidding September 1 – 13, 2023. This is the first California Only auction in over twenty years and the first to be held online in Los Angeles, presenting a unique opportunity to purchase both classic and cult wines from California with exceptional provenance.
The auction features the largest ever single owner collection of Screaming Eagle to appear at auction at Christie’s. Included in the sale are twenty vintages of this cult Napa classic including rare magnums and multiple vintages of The Flight.

Highlights from the sale feature an exquisite collection of Napa rarities, including large formats of Groth, Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon 1985 in both six and three liter and a rare case of magnums of Stag’s Leap, Cask 23, Cabernet Sauvignon 1985, among the all-time highest rated wines from California. Also featured in the sale is an extraordinarily rare full case of Beaulieu Vineyards Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1968 purchased from The Magnificent Collection of Mr. Henry E. Singleton at Christie’s Los Angeles in April 2000. This collection also includes bottles of Heitz Martha’s Vineyard from 1968 and 1969, alongside multiple vintages of Harlan Estate.
Rounding out the auction are ten vintages of Scarecrow, offered in three-bottle original wooden cases and multiple vintages of Opus One.
