August 28, 2023, Napa, CA — Clark-Claudon Vineyards and their unique philanthropic venture, Cab for Care, has partnered with Napa Wildlife Rescue to create a delicious fundraising opportunity.
In the summer of 2008, proprietors Laurie Claudon and Tom Clark searched for a connection between their two passions: making wine and making a difference. Out of that process, Clark-Claudon Cabernet for Care was created.
“We offer a 50% discount on our wines and ask participants to donate the other 50% to a selected charitable cause,” stated Clark-Claudon.
Thus, Cabernet for Care, as a partnership for good, has raised thousands of dollars for worthy causes.
The highly regarded and critiqued Clark-Claudon wines are sought after by collectors as well as fans of fine wine. And Napa Wildlife Rescue, the only entity in Napa County that is permitted to rescue, rehabilitate and release wildlife back to the Napa wild receives much needed funding in the process.
Tom Clark and Laurie Claudon arrived in Napa Valley in 1974, In 1978, Tom founded Clark-Vineyard Management Company and began to develop and manage vineyards throughout the Napa Valley. Ten years later the couple planned to develop 70 acres of vineyard, however, after completing 16 acres of phase one, they decide to leave the 100-acre balance of forests, creeks, meadows and ponds in its natural state. The first vintage of Clark-Claudon Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon was produced in 1993.
The Cab for Care project was brought into full force in 2008 and has since provided thousands of dollars of charitable funding for entities throughout the Napa Valley.
The Cab for Care program requires the purchaser to make the allotted donation to Napa Wildlife Rescue, depending on the number of bottles purchased, at the time of making the purchase from Clark-Claudon Vineyards. Once the donation and purchase have been confirmed, delivery arrangements are completed.

Ripe blackberries and plums with some sweet vanilla and chocolate. Roasted almonds and wet earth, too. Full-bodied with bright acidity and a grip of chewy tannins on the long finish. A cellar selection blend that is mostly (all?) Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is dense and concentrated, with a full-bodied, mineral laced style carrying impressive Cassis Fruits as well as notes of violets, crushed stone, orange blossom, and freshly sharpened pencils.
