TASTE will Kick-Off with Taste Our Terroir, the Annual Livermore Valley Food and Wine Competition, and will Take Place on October 19-22, 2023
Livermore, CA, June 5, 2023 – Livermore Valley Wine Community has announced today that their annual premier wine and food weekend, formerly known as Taste Our Terroir, will now be named TASTE: The Livermore Valley Wine Experience to encompass the full breadth of the weekend’s events. TASTE: The Livermore Valley Wine Experience will kick off with the Taste Our Terroir food and wine competition that pairs Livermore Valley wineries and restaurants to compete for the perfect pairing. The weekend will also offer other experiences including sommelier led tasting experiences, vertical tastings with multiple wineries, gourmet pairings and cooking classes, outdoor activities among the vines and more events to be announced over the next few months. Previously hosted each July, the event will now take place October 19-22, 2023.
“We are thrilled to share that our premier food and wine weekend will now be called TASTE: The Livermore Valley Wine Experience. We felt that it truly encompassed the incredible experiences offered throughout the weekend and gave our Taste Our Terroir food and wine competition a special spotlight among the weekend of events,” said Heather McGrail, Chair of TASTE and President of McGrail Vineyards and Winery. “We also decided to move this event to October because it is one of the most spectacular times to visit the Livermore Valley. The weather is wonderful, the vines are lush, harvest is wrapping up and the smell of the grapes and fermenting wine are in the air. You won’t want to miss this unforgettable weekend in Livermore Valley.”
For this year’s Taste Our Terroir food and wine competition, Livermore Valley wineries and restaurants teams will compete in the following categories:
- Best Classic Pairing
- Most Innovative Pairing
- Judge’s Best Pairing: Overall Best Pairing
- People’s Choice Awards: Best White Wine Pairing, Best Red Wine Pairing
The 2023 teams include: Cuda Ridge Wines with LB Steak, Darcie Kent Estate Winery with Zephyr Grill & Bar, Fenestra Winery with OYO, Garré Vineyard & Winery with Garré Cafe, Las Positas Vineyards and The Lounge @ LPV, McGrail Vineyards & Winery and Bottletaps, Murrieta’s Well and Tony Glanville Catering, Page Mill Winery and Sons of Liberty Alehouse, Retzlaff Vineyards with On the Vine Catering, The Steven Kent Winery and Locanda Wine Bar, Wente Vineyards and The Grill and Wood Family Vineyards with First Street Alehouse.
