Hopland, Calif., April 24, 2023 – Bonterra Organic Estates, the largest Regenerative Organic Certified® winery in the United States, announces the promotion of Allison Wetsel to senior vice president of sales. In her new role, Wetsel will be responsible for overseeing the company’s commercial division, Viña Concha y Toro USA, which includes all sales operations and strategy for the company.
Wetsel joined Bonterra Organic Estates in 2022 as vice president of sales, bringing an impressive two-decade track record of building brands and team culture in the wine and beverage industry. Previously, Wetsel made Ranch Rider Spirits Co. a U.S. top 20 ready-to-drink (RTD) brand as the company’s executive vice president. Before this, she led The Family Coppola as president of sales and wholesale. In her eighteen-year tenure, she developed national accounts and commercial analytics in a culture-forward sales organization.
Since joining Bonterra Organic Estates last year, Wetsel has led the sales team in increasing distribution across key markets. “Allison has been an integral part of our team and pivotal to our growth,” said Giancarlo Bianchetti, CEO of Bonterra Organic Estates. “Her industry expertise, ability to connect and lead teams, capture new opportunities, and passion for the future of regenerative organic wine make her the ideal candidate to lead our company’s sales strategy in a rapidly evolving market.” Bianchetti added, “I’m confident in her ability to achieve our ambitious goals for the future.”
“Bonterra Organic Estates’ commitment to the well-being of the planet and people inspires me daily,” said Wetsel. “I’m passionate about pioneering companies, particularly those focused on innovation. Our future depends on Regenerative Organic Certified agriculture – it’s that simple – and I’m honored to lead the growth strategy for the winery that pioneered organics long before there was a category.”
Bonterra Organic Estates has pioneered organic winemaking since its first organic vineyards were planted in the late 1980s. The company’s sustainability practices have earned it numerous awards and accolades, including being named “2022 Green Company of the Year” by the Drinks Business, “2020 New World Winery of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast, and “2016 Winery of the Year” by Wine & Spirits Magazine. In addition to its robust responsible business commitments, Bonterra Organic Estates imports the portfolio of its holding company, Viña Concha y Toro, and is the largest importer of South American wines in the United States
