Champagne Billecart-Salmon Launches Nicolas François 2008

The exceptional instinct of Maison Billecart-Salmon  shines through the 2008 vintage of prestige cuvée

April 18th – This timeless cuvée has existed since 1964 and pays tribute to the founder of the House. Today,  the 2008 vintage is ready to be unveiled, embodying the vision of excellence perpetuated by seven  generations of the family. Balanced and mature, Nicolas François 2008 is an authentic reflection of  Billecart-Salmon’s ancestral savoir-faire in blending.

An iconic wine of the House that perfectly encapsulates the Billecart-Salmon style in all its glory. The blend  of great Crus from the classified vineyards of Montagne de Reims (Pinot Noir) and Côte des Blancs (Chardonnay) gives rise to a strong and distinctive personality. The year 2008 in Champagne was blessed with a  generous and sunny harvest, with concentrated grapes selected at optimal maturity. The vinification, partially  in traditional oak casks, underpins an elegant vinosity that makes for an incomparable tasting experience.

Expressing the meticulous savoir-faire of the House in the art of blending, Nicolas François 2008 displays the  richness and subtlety of a complex and refreshing aromatic cuvée. Fines notes of orchard fruits coat the palate,  underlined by the radiance of a floral persistance. A finish of an astonishing complexity evolves towards hints  of toasted bread and bergamot. This cuvée will bring out the flavors of a sole in lemon butter or a milk-fed veal  chop with chanterelle mushrooms.

On this occasion, embark on a journey to encounter two exceptional instincts: the 3 Michelin-starred chef  Mauro Colagreco introduced Maison Billecart-Salmon to his world by becoming the official godfather of  Nicolas François 2008. An ideal alliance between two remarkable savoir-faire, advocating a shared respect for  nature and their respective terroirs. Stay tuned and follow this exciting adventure on the House’s social networks!

ABOUT CHAMPAGNES BILLECART-SALMON

Billecart-Salmon was first and foremost the result of a union. A union between Nicolas François Billecart and  Elisabeth Salmon who, in 1818 and just married, founded their own Champagne House in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ,  a village near Epernay. At their side was Louis Salmon, Elisabeth’s brother, a passionate oenologist. Today,  Mathieu Roland-Billecart, the 7th generation of the family, heads the House. Two centuries have passed since  the creation of Billecart-Salmon champagnes, yet its motto remains unchanged: “Give priority to quality,  strive for excellence”. Indifferent to passing trends but in tune with the times, the House has always been  concerned to deserve the praise of artists of taste such as sommeliers and great chefs. Shared on the greatest  gastronomic tables in France and around the world, or at the heart of celebrations in the intimacy of a  family, Billecart-Salmon champagnes elegantly and delicately underline the most beautiful moments in life.
