Notable Napa Valley winery makes UK debut at Michelin-starred restaurant in London
RUTHERFORD, Calif. (October 31, 2022) – Alpha Omega, a family-owned winery in the legendary Rutherford appellation of Napa Valley, is pleased to announce its United Kingdom restaurant debut with Michelin-starred Frog by Adam Handling in London’s Covent Garden becoming the first to carry the critically-acclaimed wines. A lavish dinner featuring Alpha Omega’s artisanal wines to celebrate the new collaboration was recently held in the private dining room of Handling’s flagship restaurant.
“My wife, Michelle, and I have looked forward to entering the UK market and are confident that we have brought our beautiful Alpha Omega wines to a restaurant group that shares the same passion for quality and its craft as we do at Alpha Omega,” said Robin Baggett, who along with Michelle, founded Alpha Omega in 2006.
Under the direction of Winemaker Matt Brain and Consulting Winemaker Andy Erickson, Alpha Omega handcrafts artisanal wines from iconic Napa Valley vineyards that include Beckstoffer To Kalon, Thomas, Drew, Sleeping Lady, Tench, Hyde and Hudson vineyards. Frog by Adam Handling showcases Alpha Omega’s signature collection of wines – Alpha Omega Chardonnay Napa Valley, Alpha Omega Proprietary Red Napa Valley, Alpha Omega Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley and the flagship wine, Alpha Omega ERA Napa Valley, a Bordeaux blend of carefully selected barrels from Alpha Omega’s best single vineyards that highlight the exceptional diversity of Napa Valley terroir.
The 2019 vintage of all four wines, along with the 2009 vintages of Cabernet Sauvignon and ERA and ERA Napa Valley 2016, were poured at the launch dinner attended by a select group of wine industry professionals. Handling, awarded a Michelin star for Frog by Adam Handling in 2022 and winner of Restaurateur of the Year in the British GQ Food and Drink Awards in 2020, is scheduled to add Alpha Omega to the wine list at his Ugly Butterfly restaurant in Cornwall.
