Share Inspiration at VINITECH-SIFEL 2022

Bordeaux, September 20 2022- Big ideas, extensive dialogue, true inspiration and meaningful interactions – all of  these can be found at VINITECH-SIFEL 2022, the global trade show for the wine, fruit and vegetable production sectors, held from November 29th to December 1st in Bordeaux, France. A driving force behind these ever-changing  sectors since 1977, VINITECH -SIFEL remains faithful to its roots by bringing together the entire ecosystem for truly inspirational dialogue. At a time when sectors need to adapt, evolving to withstand climate change and the agro ecological transition, VINITECH-SIFEL gives professionals the opportunity to learn, to equip themselves with new solutions and to incorporate these new concepts into their everyday activity. This 2022 edition will host 900  exhibitors (manufacturers and distributors), along with a packed program of over 70 conferences and forums. 

VINITECH-SIFEL : A powerful national and international network of experts 

VINITECH-SIFEL’s new signature branding, “LET’S SHARE INSPIRATION!” summarizes the commitment of leading speakers from all industry sectors: international organizations, trade organizations, defence or management bodies, professional and training organizations, technical and scientific institutes, universities and technical colleges, and  more. Their contribution will ensure that the inspiration comes the inspiration will be truly meaningful. At the same time, VINITECH-SIFEL welcomes the extensive involvement of regional economic players and public authorities, and will showcase how they support the sector. 

An overview of VINITECH-SIFEL 2022 

900 manufacturers and distributors expected:

The 2022 VINITECH-SIFEL show will be built around 4 central hubs representing each stage of production – VINEYARDS AND ORCHARDS / CELLARS AND VINEYARDS / BOTTLING & PACKAGING / SERVICES – and 5 multisectoral paths: Organic, Fruits and vegetables, Spirits, Low Carbon (new) and Beer (new) – a new path towards diversification. 

Innovation areas to support change:

VINITECH-SIFEL aims to enhance the visitor experience with a dedicated areas for innovation and change, such as a “Wine & Spirit Profiling” space for technical tastings, along with themed areas that allow producers to discuss and  respond to pertinent industry issues, such as the “International Start up Village” (35 participants)and an all-new “Low Carbon Objective Area” (equipment exhibitions, talks and feedback). The Ecophyto & Agroecology topics will  also have their own equipment exhibition area and specific keynote speeches. The outdoor Demonstrations and Testing space has also been expanded.

Employment and training services 

In collaboration with the ISVV (Institut des Sciences de la Vigne et du Vin), Vinitech Training offers a training service  for exhibitors and visitors structured in 2 modules: “Developing high-quality oenological analyses for better decision making” and “Olfactory faults in wine” (with tastings). Registration is required for both sessions. Vitijob and the  Sphère des Métiers [Career Sphere] are also collaborating to offer job dating, training and employment coaching sessions.

Beyond those all-important meetings and business sessions, VINITECH-SIFEL is all about bringing together the  national and international community, thanks to the rich programme of over 70 meetings and talks around developments in topics such as: agroecology, carbon neutrality, packaging innovation and the economic outlook.  

Some highlights include:  

  • The INVENIO symposium: “Agrivoltaics, Fruits and Vegetables and viticulture”, addressing the topic of agrivoltaics as a strategy for decarbonisation and energy self-sufficiency. 
  • The “Vines in revolution: between tradition and innovation” symposium organised by the IFV and ISVV speaking  to the potential within the many forgotten and historic varieties, the inclusion of new varieties into AOC (VIFA) and  rootstocks. 
  • The Wine Economic Symposium, in partnership with the INSEEC Wine Chair – two key sessions of public dialogue  between academic researchers and wine producers, encouraging constructive input on their view of current  economic trends: “The sector in 2025” and “Barriers to Trade ”.
  • Continuation of the Vinipack symposium, dedicated to innovation in packaging, with this year’s theme “Picking  your packaging to boost your sales”

Organized every two years in the Bordeaux Exhibition Centre, VINITECH-SIFEL is the industry benchmark for innovation and discussion in the wine, tree and vegetable growing sectors.
