William Chris Wine Company Announces Brand Expansion Project for Lost Draw Cellars in Johnson City

New winery and tasting room for flagship brand to open in September 2023

HYE, TEXAS (July 19, 2022) – William Chris Wine Company (WCWC) announced plans this week to expand one of the portfolio’s flagship brands, Lost Draw Cellars, by way of a new, ground-up, 9,260 square-foot winery and tasting room in Johnson City. The new winery has already had its groundbreaking with construction expected to begin this fall, and an expected completion and opening date tentatively set for September 2023.

“We’re thrilled to be able to grow and expand the Lost Draw Cellars brand and get our story and our wines in front of more people,” said Lost Draw Cellars Founder and William Chris Wine Company Co-Founder and COO Andrew Sides. “Our property in Fredericksburg has been, and will remain, a big part of the overall customer experience, but the new space in Johnson City allows us to attract a new audience geographically and create new fans of Texas-grown wine as a result. Expansion has always been part of the Lost Draw Cellars long-term vision, and our team couldn’t be more excited to see that coming to life in the great community of Johnson City.”

The property, located at 1686 US Highway 290, is already home to seven acres of vineyard planted by William Chris Wine Co. in 2020. Designed by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, the new winery will feature a public tasting room, club member tasting room, covered porch, retail store, barrel storage, offices, kitchen, and an outdoor bar.

The team is committed to producing quality wines that highlight the unique terroir of Texas. Lost Draw prides itself on working with grapes that thrive in the semi-arid climate of the region and works to continuously improve the growing process in a sustainable way.
