Newberg, Oregon (July 13, 2022) — A to Z Wineworks has been named a 2022 Best for the World™ B Corp™ in recognition of exceptional positive environmental practices. Best for the World is a distinction granted by B Lab to Certified B Corporations (B Corps) whose verified B Impact Scores (as evaluated in the B Impact Assessment) rank in the top 5% of all B Corps in their corresponding size group.
A to Z Wineworks became a Certified B Corp in 2014 and has been recognized as a Best for the World B Corp every year since. This is the fifth consecutive year that A to Z Wineworks has been recognized in the Environment category, tracking efforts to reduce energy, water, and waste in every part of the process from vineyard to bottle.
In an effort to not only better its own practices but encourage collaboration in environmental practices with wineries on a global scale, A to Z Wineworks joined International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA) as an applicant member in 2021. IWCA is committed to tackling the severity of the climate crisis by taking immediate action to reduce carbon emissions. Participating wineries are committing to becoming Net Zero by 2050 and completing an annual, third-party-audited, greenhouse gas emissions inventory, in alignment with the United Nations’ Race to Zero campaign.
