Winery releases fifth wine in “Racing Series” lineup inspired by the state-of-the-art carbon fiber material used in their race cars.
February 28th – Renowned family-owned producer, Adobe Road Winery is pleased to announce the national launch of CARBON, the newest wine in its “Racing Series” collection. Proudly rooted in Petaluma, “The Racing Series” is a collection of cutting-edge red blends uniquely tied to owner Kevin Buckler’s 29-year career as a professional racecar driver.
Each of the five “Racing Series” wines is named after a unique component of the racing experience. CARBON takes its name from the state-of-the-art material, ubiquitous in the world of competitive motorsports. “Carbon fiber is highly valued in the racing industry due to its high strength yet minimal weight. With CARBON, we set out to create a wine that mirrors that dynamic by blending an assortment of strong, intensely flavored varietals while still maintaining balance and approachability,” says Owner, Kevin Buckler.
CARBON is a dark, inky blend of, 48% Petite Sirah, 26% Malbec, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Petit Verdot. It comes charging off the line with an opaque black color in the glass. Aromas of black cherries, licorice, and deeply toasted oak seamlessly transition to flavors of ripe plum and crushed blackberries, finishing with sculpted tannins and violet accents. (SRP: $85)

About “The Racing Series”
Adobe Road launched “The Racing Series” in 2019 using the same philosophy that drives their success on the racetrack. “The Racing Series” is all about pushing the envelope and challenging existing norms. The wines represent the highest expression of what a premium red blend can be when pushed to the limit.
The racing parallels don’t end with just the wine. All “Racing Series” wines incorporate physical aspects of auto racing into the packaging. The CARBON label features a sheet of race-grade carbon fiber, and the cork is topped with a hex bolt similar those found in their racecars. “These kind of design details can be the keys to victory on the track. On the shelf, they help convey the racing experience and create a genuine sense of authenticity for the end consumer,” Kevin Buckler.
