Sonoma-Cutrer Releases New Pinot Noir & Chardonnay Vintages

Renowned Sonoma county winery continues its 40th Anniversary celebration with new Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and The Cutrer Chardonnay

WINDSOR, Calif., September 21, 2021 – Today, California pioneer Sonoma-Cutrer, located in the heart of the Russian River Valley, announces two new vintages of its award winning wines – the 2019 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and 2019 The Cutrer Chardonnay. As the winery celebrates its 40th Anniversary this year, these new vintages showcase the winery’s mastery of both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines.

Sonoma-Cutrer’s female-led winery team includes Pinot Noir Winemaker Zidanelia Arcidiacono and Chardonnay Winemaker Cara Morrison. “We are honored to continue the winery’s 40-year legacy with the release of these two new vintages that speak to our approach implementing both Burgundian traditions and Californian innovation,” said Morrison.

“The 2019 vintages of The Cutrer and Russian River Valley exemplify our commitment to creating high quality wines across Chardonnay and Pinot Noir while upholding sustainability practices from vineyards to winery,” said Arcidiacono

The 2019 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir was aged in a mix of new, one-year and two-year old French oak barrels for 11 months before being blended and aged in the bottle for an additional six months. The wine has a deep ruby-purple hue and aromas of exotic spice, blackberry fruit, and sweet vanilla, resulting in an elegant flavor. With a balanced acidity, juicy core, and a long finish, the 2019 vintage is sure to be a favorite of pinot noir lovers.

The 2019 The Cutrer Chardonnay is 100% barrel-fermented and aged eight months sur-lies in French oak barrels, then blended in tank and racked into three-year-old French oak barrels for five months and allowed to bottle-age for three months prior to release. Layered and balanced, aromas include light caramel and brown sugar with cedar notes. Flavors of white peach, nuts, toasted oak and baking spice appear on the palate, with a long, mouthwatering finish.

Sonoma-Cutrer’s Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (13.9%) and The Cutrer (14.1%) are available at retail for a SRP of $35.00. The wines will be available at retail locations nationwide as well as direct from the winery at www.sonomacutrer.com.
