Shady Lane Cellars Hosts Harvest Barbecue Sept. 18 in Sutton’s Bay

Experience Michigan wine, BBQ and live music by Jeff Bihlman

August 10th – Each summer, Shady Lane Cellars brings sustainably-made Michigan wine to the forefront as visitors flock to the Leelanau Peninsula. And come Sept. 18, the winery staff will bring back a favorite annual event, Harvest Barbecue. It’s a time to celebrate the wine region with wine tastings, delicious barbecue, vineyard tours and live music.

“Harvest Barbecue is one of the events our visitors look forward to each year,” said Rick DeBlasio, general manager at Shady Lane Cellars. “It marks the end of the summer season and the kick off to our busy harvest season at the vineyard.”

This family-friendly event and a great reason for residents and visitors to come together on the expansive patio surrounded by acres of rolling hills, wildflowers and vines. There’s nothing quite like harvest season in Sutton’s Bay, and this is a chance to experience just a taste of it. If the July Shrimp Boil is any indication, tickets will sell out fast for this event as well. More than 100 people attended the Shrimp Boil and it was the largest crowd to date. DeBlasio anticipates a similar response for the Harvest Barbecue.
