Featuring a rotating selection of top Champagnes, the Acumen PEAKeasy will offer both glass and bottle service in a beautiful retro speakeasy lounge environment.
NAPA VALLEY, Calif. – May 27, 2021 – Acumen Napa Valley (www.acumenwine.com) is excited to announce the opening of the Acumen PEAKeasy, Napa Valley’s first lounge dedicated to Champagne. Located in a private room of the Acumen Wine Gallery at 1315 First Street in downtown Napa, the new PEAKeasy holds a type 42 license that allows guests to enjoy both by-the-glass and bottle service in the stylish new venue. The PEAKeasy will feature a rotating lineup of top Champagnes, as well as rare small-production and allocation-only Champagnes sourced by Acumen. The Acumen PEAKeasy is open for by-appointment visits Friday to Sunday from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m., and Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., with a current lineup featuring three Champagnes from renowned producer Michel Gonet, as well as acclaimed offerings from Louis Roederer and Dom Ruinart.
“While we are proudly a Napa Valley winery, we love Champagne, and we love the idea of combining elements of the Old World and New World in our visitor experience,” says Sales and Marketing Director Diana Schweiger, who spearheaded the creation of the PEAKeasy, and will be curating its Champagne list. “Beyond our focus on Champagne, the PEAKeasy will also host exhibitions from local artists, live music performances like our Dueling Pianos event, and much more. We are excited to bring something as new and innovative as the PEAKeasy to our community.”
Designed to offer a classic speakeasy aesthetic, the PEAKeasy (which takes its name from Acumen’s renowned PEAK tier of mountain-grown wines from Atlas Peak) is a stylish and intimate venue with elegant art deco accents, big, comfy couches and vintage-style lounge seating. The PEAKeasy Gallery is currently showing works by internationally acclaimed artist Penelope Moore, and will be unveiling a new show featuring paintings by Napa Valley artist Laura Corallo-Titus (the wife of Acumen Winemaker Phillip Titus) in July.
For the PEAKeasy’s debut Champagne list, Schweiger reached out to her friends, the Gonet family, and will be spotlighting three of their acclaimed Champagnes. Founded in 1802, Champagne Michel Gonet is guided by seventh-generation vintner Sophie Gonet, and farms 100 acres of vineyards in the Grand Cru villages of Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil sur Oger.
“Champagne has always been one of my great passions,” adds Schweiger. “I’m excited to draw on relationships I’ve made over the years to ensure that our Champagne selection is always exciting and unique.
