Evenstad Estates Announces the Promotion of Ryan Harris to Chief Executive Officer & President

Domaine SereneDayton, OR – May 17, 2021 – Evenstad Estates is pleased to announce the promotion of Ryan Harris to Chief Executive Officer and President. Harris will succeed Grace Evenstad who served as co-CEO with her late husband and co-founder, Ken Evenstad, and will now act as Owner, Founder, and Chair of the Board.

“Ryan has shown tremendous devotion and leadership to Evenstad Estates over his eight years with us. During that time, we have more than doubled our business, built one of the best teams in the wine industry, and accomplished our mission to make the world’s best Pinot Noir wine many times over. His fearless leadership and visionary approach are true assets to Evenstad Estates. We look forward to many great years under his continued leadership,” said Grace Evenstad.

Harris will continue to lead the production of world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay under the Domaine Serene, Château de la Crée, and Maison Evenstad brands. During his tenure, Domaine Serene wines have earned 95 points or higher by major critics an astounding 120 times. Most recently, Domaine Serene was named the world’s most awarded winery at the 2020 Decanter World Wine Awards. Harris has also led the development and launch of the Domaine Serene Wine Lounge brand with locations in Portland and Lake Oswego and a third location opening in Bend later this year.

Under Harris’ leadership, Evenstad Estates acquired Château de la Crée, the venerable 15th century Domaine located in Burgundy’s Côte d’Or, making the Evenstads the first Oregon-based vintners to own land and produce wine in Burgundy. Evenstad Estates now owns 25 acres of prime vineyards in Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, and Maranges, with additional growth on the horizon.

The Evenstads became the first Oregon vintners to own land and produce wine in Burgundy with the 2015 acquisition of Château de la Crée, which led to the development of the Maison Evenstad label. In all, the Evenstads own 25 acres of prime vineyards in Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay and Maranges.

In Oregon, Evenstad Estates operates the Domaine Serene Clubhouse, an old world style tasting room, complete with stone arch caves, overlooking the Dundee Hills. Domaine Serene launched the innovative Domaine Serene Wine Lounge brand in 2018, creating outposts in Portland and Lake Oswego, with the third location opening in Bend in fall 2021. The winery currently produces wines from six individual vineyard estates, planted exclusively to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Evenstads own nearly 1,000 total acres of land in the hills of Yamhill County, with 300 acres planted to vine.

Having earned 95 points and above by wine critics an astounding 120 times and counting, the wines of Evenstad Estates represent the achievement that is possible in Oregon and Burgundy, the two finest regions in the world for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
